A delightfully charming old world pub with a bright and modern conservatory to dine in. Very welcoming staff. "The best steak I've ever had" from my fellow diner and I really enjoyed the fish pie. Highly recommended

General Burgoyne – UlverstonWe came as a family for Sunday dinner and it was absolutely amazing.. can not fault the meal or service, I've already told my friends and family about the Sunday roast.. we will be back.. including the little pug Emma
General Burgoyne – UlverstonBeautifully cooked food, everything home cooked no frozen Yorkshires lovely fluffy/crispy roast potatoes veg cooked perfectly and quality beef how a Sunday roast should be, friendly and fast service, and I love it when the chef takes time to ask if everything is ok shows there passionate, definitely recommend this one
General Burgoyne – UlverstonHi You sent me a link to review a meal I didn't have. Arrived for our booking to find you weren't expecting us and there was no Chef.
General Burgoyne – UlverstonBooked for 22.9.2023. a Saturday evening. No steak, no specials offered, starters on the small side even for my liking. Service ok. Value for money ok
General Burgoyne – UlverstonExcellent dinner - we both had the chicken supreme which was delicious. A lovely pineapple tarte tatin to follow. We gave our thanks to the chefs! Nothing too much trouble for the busy serving staff. Proper 'local pub' atmosphere. Would definitely revisit when next in the area.
General Burgoyne – UlverstonPork belly dish tasted fantastic, but plate and potatoes weren’t very warm. Potatoes were missing from the fish dish and we were told they shouldn’t have been on the menu. Found this a bit odd, but they were provided at our request. Cheesecake for dessert was one of the best I’ve tasted. More serving staff needed, but I realise this is difficult at the moment.
General Burgoyne – UlverstonUsed the online booking form to reserve a table. Received an email confirmation. Turned up for our meal to be told they weren’t serving food. Very bizarre experience.
Kings Arms – UlverstonWe had a team meeting at The Kings Arms for Thai night and it is fantastic! Thai night at the kings is an amazing idea and we will definitely be back thank you! The food was amazing and so were the staff!
Kings Arms – UlverstonApril 2023 We attended for a meal to celebrate my aunty’s 80th birthday. We were are party of 6 ladies. Unfortunately, although only ordering main courses, our food still hadn’t arrived after 2 hours. When we enquired about where the food was we were told it was being plated…..however still no food 20 minutes later. We ended up leaving and were verbally abused by the manager. The young girl serving us was the only positive experience from the whole evening: she was friendly and worked really hard. We ended up having a Macdonalds: not the greatest end for an 80th birthday celebration but at least we ate!
General Burgoyne – UlverstonThe second time we’ve been and had Thai and, once again, it didn’t disappoint. Delicious food, freshly prepared and well recommended.
Kings Arms – UlverstonSecond visit for a meal, and again loved the food. One of my favourite Thai meals and chips wow the best I’ve had in a long time
Kings Arms – UlverstonReally good service, excellent food inc vegetarian options. We go at least once a year, for my birthday.
General Burgoyne – UlverstonOnce again, a lovely meal at the Kings Arms. All 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed it and our young waiter was very pleasant.
Kings Arms – UlverstonLovely setting in Great Urswick. Lovey old pub with a lovely range of beers etc. The conservatory was perfect for our large family group with children for Easter Sunday lunch. Great home cooked food and varied menu at reasonable prices. Something for everyone. Staff worked really hard to make everything perfect for us. Thanks to everyone at General Burgoyne 10/10 !
General Burgoyne – UlverstonWe visited on a Friday evening (2 people), atmosphere was nice and calm. Old wooden bar stools in the dining area were not the most comfortable to sit on. We ordered from the Thai menu, chicken wings for starters were tasty, but unfortunately we were disappointed with the main courses - very watery and lacked greens/veg. The service was relatively poor throughout the night - no cutlery or napkins provided with starters, when our mains arrived we asked which dish was which as they looked extremely similar, the waiter told us we that he didn’t know and that we’d just have to try them to find out. Unfortunately the service did spoil our experience and we wouldn’t be likely to return when compared to alternative food establishments in the town.
Kings Arms – UlverstonFood and Service was Amazing
