We booked here on return from Padstow, after dropping off our bikes from cycling along the Camel Trail. The staff were very attentive, chatty and friendly, but we had to ask for a separate children's menu. We sat inside, and although enjoyed our meal, we went away feeling that the food was rather overpriced for what it was.. £18.95 for seafood linguine, was pretty steep for something rather average. An enjoyable meal apart from the price.

Had a truly divine experience at the Boatyard last night , never tried it before but likes the look of the menu , hubby had the steak on a stone and was thrilled with it , the quirkiness of cooking it yourself was fascinating, I had the prawn , lobster and salmon linguine with tiger prawns to start it was my favourite meal ever!! Staff were attentive , professional and friendly and we will definitely be back

Yuuuuum! So good we came back for more. Really enjoyed both our meals at The Molesworth Arms, but the pizza was fabulous and the steak on a stone so, so good. Can’t wait to come back on our next visit to Wadebridge.

I can honestly say this was one of the best meals in a pub I’ve ever had. As a family of 6 we were holidaying in the area and came across this place earlier in the week and as the menu looked good decided to book a table for later during the week. All our food was fresh, cooked perfectly and presented well. The service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble for the staff who looked after us. Thanks to all and we can recommend The Molesworth Arms to anyone.

Started the night with a long list of items that were not available. Fours meals ordered, two were steaks that we cooked ourselves at the table and two portions of fish and chips. Drinks came fairly quickly but the food took well over an hour. We were told three times "It won't be much longer but we are swamped." Finally, after it got to 1 hour and 10 minutes, we asked how much longer it would be to get the reply. "I don't really know. I saw some meals cooking, they might be yours but I'm not sure". A bit of an odd reassurance. Still, we got to watch everyone else's, including the table next door who received a dessert they didn't order and when they queried it they got told: "oh we didn't have any of that cheesecake you asked for so we brought another". When they asked if it was nuts on top the response they got was a giggle and "I'm not sure, could be." Not so great if you have allergies. Ours finally arrived and was actually nice tasting (we got different veg to what we asked for but we were scared to complain incase we had someone else's meal and they wanted it back!) We came in at 7:50 for our 8pm reservation and we had only just finished one course just after 10.pm Chef great; serving staff need a bit more training.

Unfortunately we did not have a good meal, we were initially put on a table right next to the bar where we couldn't hear ourselves think over the ice grinder, so asked to move to another table, they did move us but then we had to wait 15 mins to get 2 drinks, one of which was wrong, another 10 mins to order food, then about 45 mins before the food arrived. When it did, the medium to well done steak I ordered was bloody, and the prawns were tough and rubbery, but didnt want to send it back as we had already waited so long for it we were starving, not to mention they closed shortly, so we ate it, and it was average, but far to pricey for what we actually got! Despite all this, we realised that's they were busy so gave a second chance on the dessert, I wish I hadn't bothered! I ordered a strawberry eton mess, and what I got was vanilla ice cream with a squirt of strawberry sauce at the bottom and some whipped cream on top with a peice of meringue stuck on it, I was so shocked and appalled I left it and left the pub. The cocktails didnt taste of anything either, so really really disappointed to be honest. Over £90 for 2 meals, 2 drinks and 1 dessert. I wont be going back!

We enjoyed a very nice meal at the molesworth recently food was excellent and service from our initial waitress was very good and friendly. However her shift finished at 9pm and service after was poor. We are locals and eat on a regular basis at the pub and it’s upmarket boathouse. Menu in pub is more varied but boathouse is lovely.

Stayed in Wadebridge for a four night holiday exploring Cornwall and booked the Molesworth Arms for dinner four months earlier for our last night. Disappointed to be led to a table in the corner but was sure the food and service would make up for it...how wrong we were. The feeling we had was we were shoved in a corner out of the way and forgotten about, took ages to get an order and when I asked how much the wine was per bottle as they only showed by the glass on the menu, returned with a seemingly made up figure. Main courses were pub fayre at best but would like to see a dessert menu and maybe order more drinks...no chance as nobody arrived to offer us anything after waiting over half an hour decided we'd just ask for the bill, had to literally shout out from our corner to get it! When I told the waitress we were disapponted she said they were very busy and they only have their own area to serve!!! Pretty poor, told them would not be returning to this place if we ever find ourselves in Wadebridge again.

Went for an evening meal at The Boatyard and stayed overnight at the pub while over visiting family in Bodmin. Massive improvement in the look and feel of the place now it has been taken over an redecorated. We had the sharing platter for two and both my wife and I thought it was amazing food and great value for money. Very impressed. The service was ok but in places was a little unprofessional, mainly due to lack of age/ experience with the waiting on/ bar staff. Would definitely recommend this restaurant, pub and the B&B to anyone visiting Wadebridge or North Cornwall.

Mediocre. Service was slow, took a long time for drinks to arrive, main course wasn’t too bad, but then took a while for additional sauces to arrive. Had to ask for another drink and dessert menu, both of which then took a while to arrive again, also had to ask for the bill. Staff were pleasant and friendly enough, but seemed chaotic and disorganised, seemed to be a lot of wandering around aimlessly and chatting at the bar by the young ladies working. I had hoped for a bit more character given the history of the pub, but it was more of a generic pub type interior. Scruffy appearance of waiting staff didn’t help, I know it’s not a top class restaurant, but lots of scruffy faded jeans, plastic fashion belts, chunky trainers etc didn’t help the appearance. Drinks were fine, but expensive for location. Food (surf and turf/steak on a stone) was lovely and the main redeeming feature. Dessert was poor, eton mess sundae was mainly ice cream with a small squirt of strawberry sauce, and a small meringue on top. In all, ok for a pub meal, not worth pushing the boat out though and paying for dessert, drinks etc as well as rapidly ends up expensive for mediocre evening. Food quality needs improving for the price charged and some work on service standards and efficiency of staff.

Very poor experience. Food was mediocre. Service appalling. We left before we had desert. Ordered it with two different staff members and after 40 minutes we still hadn’t received it so cancelled order. How long can it take to cut a piece of cheesecake. We weren’t the only ones having a poor experience, two other tables round us had issues. If managed well it could be a success.

While on holiday we visited The Molesworth Arms. Nice pub that was very accommodating. They managed to find us a table on a busy Saturday evening which we really appreciated. The menu is varied with a lot of options. Service was excellent. We returned for a second visit a few day later which was also a good experience.
