My husband and I went for an early bird meal for our wedding anniversary. The staff are charming and attentive. There is a good choice for starters and main course. We went for French onion soup and prawn cocktail to start, followed by steak and ale pie, roast vegetables and chips. Everything seems fresh and home made and portion sizes are generous. Our food was beautifully presented and extremely tasty.

Staff were more than helpful had a lovely hunters chicken and even got talked into having desert on Saturday, was not disappointmented. Had a roast on Sunday which was one of the best dinners I've had in a while, only slight negative part was my yorkshire pudding was flat, but I did seen funny side in it and was still very tasty, just ment I had extra room for the extra veggies I wanted lol. On both occasions we were made to feel so welcome with our dogs by staff and other customers. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again. Thank you

Duck for the mains and cooked pink exactly as ordered. The place was particularly busy this Friday, but the service was still excellent because the business is so well run with excellent team work amongst the staff, my compliments all round

The Victoria Inn – BarmouthWhat a fantastic evening meal we had at Y Sgwar in Portmadog last night. Very friendly staff even though the restaurant was very busy but we didn't feel rushed at all. We ate off the a la carte menu and ordered a starter & main meal each. The portion sizes were very generous for each dish and perfectly cooked. Y Sgwar is a top quality restaurant that serves excellent Welsh food that is reasonably priced. We highly recommend you visit this restaurant and we would definitely return when we're next in the area.

Y Sgwar – PorthmadogI was organising a hen do Sunday lunch for 24 ladies (after a white water rafting adventure!) Jason and his team could not have been more helpful! I know it's a big group to cater for, but pre order menus were sent so that we could submit in advance, and communication was absolutely on point! Someone always responded quickly, and even when one lady dropped out the day before, it was no trouble, cannot fault them!! As for the food, absolutely top draw roasts!! Everyone had nothing but good things to say about the quality and value of their food, it all went like clockwork (and made me look very organised in the process!) Thank you all at The Bridge End Hotel, especially Jason, for your kind and excellent service, would definitely recommend!!
