My wife and I dined here earlier this week and came away very satisfied indeed with every aspect. The staff were lovely and efficient, the food was very good indeed and it was all excellent value. We chose from the Christmas menu, which was so balanced with its small number of excellent choices. We both chose the Turkey dish which was better than any we've ever had from typical Christmas menus you find at many other establishments at this time of year. Oh, and the portion sizes were just right too and we didn't feel uncomfortably full.

Very enjoyable Sunday lunch with friends in the delightful space upstairs. Great food for a mixed group of carnivores vegetarians and vegans. The veggie wellington was especially good. Excellent service and a good price too. Thank you.

Delicious food and lovely atmosphere at this hidden gem a short walk from the cathedral grounds. I had the hake in clam chowder and it was wonderful! Will be back.

We had an excellent meal on Saturday lunchtime. Despite the storm outside, everything was calm and relaxed inside. An enjoyable meal with attentive service.

We went for Sunday lunch for the first time. We were impressed by the friendly and efficient staff and the very pleasant ambience. The food was superb, very good quality and well presented. An all round delightful experience.

As always our meal at at Goodfellows last week was excellent. Good freshly prepared food in a friendly environment at a reasonable price.

We have NEVER had a bad meal here. Always excellent food beautifully presented with great service. Our favourite place to go. We treated ourselves to the tasting menu and wine flight - highly recommend - every mouthful was delicious.

Very nice food, choice and good service. Went for the non-meat main although I am not vegetarian. It was excellent flavour wise. Courses were good value compared to some restaurants in town and the menu offered tasty nibbles as a cheaper alternative to more expensive and filling starters.

Excellent food and service

My son and I had the most wonderful lunch at Goodfellows yesterday. As always the friendly welcome and the delicious food was such a joy and delight. Thank you Goodfellows for another superb meal.

Our second visit to the Olive Tree and once again we both had wonderful, delicious food, beautifully presented. We choose the mousseline of hake and the pan fried fillet of sea bass. The flavours were all very well balanced. We decided not to have any side dishes so that we could enjoy desserts - baked cheesecake and cheeseboard. If you are dining in Wells then the Olive Tree is a must visit but do book ahead!

Yesterday we enjoyed another superb meal at Goodfellows. From wild mushroom soup to Scallops and to finish crème brûlée. Great ingredients expertly cooked. Sensational.

Wonderful Sunday lunch on one of the wettest days on record, so glad we made the effort! Extremely tasty cured trout starter, exceptionally tender roast beef with trimmings and although it wasn’t listed staff were happy to provide cinnamon ice cream (which wasn’t actually needed but was delicious!) for dessert. Very friendly and professional staff - well done!

Soup was a little slow to arrive (how much prep do you need?) but good. Affogato disappointing. The coffee was too weak. Needed a good double shot of strong espresso. Service OK, but Madame could have been friendlier. Good value for money but we are used to London prices!

As always, an absolutely stunning lunch. The restaurant, unsurprisingly was full with everyone enjoying an eclectic, stunning, delightful lunch at an extremely reasonable price. The wine is astonishingly good too. The entire team is gifted, warm, know exactly the right atmosphere to create & it is always a joy to join them for lunch. 120 mile round trip may sound a bit crazy but it ALWAYS worth it. Love love love good fellows. Another fantastic meal the food was absolutely delicious, we had the 3 course set lunch menu and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was excellent prompt friendly service . Have been here a couple of times and will definitely be one of our regular eateries.x
