Had a lovely evening Really enjoyed our meal

Staff and atmosphere was great. Food was enjoyable but some dishes lacked Finesse. I found the scallop dish was average. The dauphinoise was not as indulgent as I would like. The seabass main was tremendous and I loved the truffle fries. My wife said her halloumi starter and pouched chicken was tasty but she agreed about the potatoes needed more salt and cream but I guess that’s individual taste. I would go back to try the other dishes

Visited the Olive tree on a Friday night for a birthday meal. Nice setting, greeted upon arrival and promptly shown our to our table. One of us was vegetarian, it was nice to see more than one option available on the menu! Both of our dishes were amazing , full of flavour and nice presentation. Desserts were superb too. Service was attentive. Couldn't ask for anymore.

Visited the Olive tree whilst on a day trip from South Wales. Greeted warmly by staff on arrival, premises were beautiful. Offered water as soon as we sat down. Lots of choices went for the main menu, food was served and presentation and taste were amazing.

We visited The Olive Tree last weekend whilst visiting Wells to celebrate my birthday. The food was excellent and the service very efficient despite appearing fully booked. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Staying in Wells for the weekend , had a wonderful meal here. My husband and I are both vegetarian, it was so nice that the vegetarian options were carefully thought about, not just adding a vegetable risotto to the menu. Everything well presented and delicious. Staff efficient and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Another delicious lunch at The Olive Tree on 20th Sept. We have now visited The Olive Tree four or five times in 2025 and have always been impressed with the quality of food. Clearly the Chef and team use high quality ingredients that are well prepared and cooked. Also, a keen eye is used for presentation. Wines are also highly palatable. Service good too. On this visit, we brought some friends for lunch and they too were suitably impressed. Thank you to all the staff at The Olive Tree and we look forward to our next visit. We have no hesitation in recommending The Olive Tree in Wells.

We went here to celebrate my graduation from university and it was fab. Food was great, staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cool. It was everything I like in a restaurant, I will be back.

Delightful: tasty, well presented 2-course Sunday lunch and sensibly priced pleasant wines. We were passing through, and may do so again.

Lovely food and great service. We’ve been regular customers since Petra and Simon opened The Olive Tree 3years ago, including some important family celebrations. Long may their success continue- they deserve it!

We had the most wonderful lunch time meal prior to a meeting. We will certainly be back. I love scallops and mussels and they were cooked to perfection. My hubby had the crab linguine and he to throughly enjoyed ever mouthful.

I had a main of hake with a white bean cassoulet. The hake was good but the cassoulet was completely bland and dry as a bone and I eat one mouthful and left the rest. I complained to the waitress and was told she would look into a discount. Bill arrived and no discount and when queried i was offered £5. When pushed they then offered £10 but they were obviously not happy. Neither was I. A triumph of style over substance. will not go again. So for the sake of taking the dish off they would rather loose customers.

We booked The Olive Tree for Friday 22nd August. It will give you an idea of what we thought when I tell you that we booked the next night too after having eaten there. Excellent food, attentive and friendly staff. They could not have been more accommodating in assisting with the storage of my partners mobility scooter. Our only complaint is that we were only visitors to Wells so are not able to use the restaurant regularly.

Great service Starter and mains were excellent but the experience was let down by 2 very poor deserts and when I complained I received a well sorry!!

Visiting from NZ, as my mum lives here in Wells, Celebrated my last night here with my Well's relations and my mum. Everyone enjoyed their night, food was presented well and top quality, service was excellent and overall top notch. Would return the next time I am back in Wells. Thank you.

I had mussels and fries and I have to say these were the best I have had in a long time. Fresh and with a most delicious sauce.

Great food, freindly staff. We enjoyed very much, will be eating there again at some point. Thank you very much
