On a very hot day, the staff were charming and accommodating of our large pushchair/noisy (but cheerful) baby and various demands and we were not rushed at all. Food delicious. Highly recommended and we'll visit again.

Nice looking place and clearly popular. Excellent service if a little rushed but that's not a problem, can handle that. Some lovely flavours with the food, which is very nice as a lot of these places fail to deliver. I had the poached chicken which was slightly over done and had no flavour particularly which is always a problem with chicken breast but the sauces made up for it. Personally cooking breast is an art 2 mins too long and you've over done it. The meat really should be brined in my opinion but I gave it a go and it was fine, nothing to write home about. Seabass was great. Something to consider is the mains are very limited, maybe 6 or 7 but I would imagine they are all very good. Is it expensive? Probably but if you can afford it, certainly won't be wasting your money unlike other places but there are plenty of people who don't need to worry about the price going here. Would I eat here again? Probably but would want to see the menu before booking, which you cannot do online as it's not kept up to date!

We came here for the first time for my partners birthday. It had good sized tables, comfy chairs and the music was not intrusive. Friends with us had been 3 times before and had recommended it... I can see why! Food portions are good (not too big, remember to order sides) and utterly delicious and beautiful. The variety of dishes was pleasing, and the menu changes frequently. The only gripe and it's slight... Is that our sides came 5 minutes after the mains arrived. Staff were friendly and helpful. We will 100% be back!

Wonderful! Our first visit to the Olive Tree and definitely not our last. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food was excellent - full of flavour and well presented. My burrata and watermelon starter was fresh and delicate, the hake and white bean cassoulet was simply delicious. And the homemade rum and raisin ice-cream (served with coconut and custard tart) was amazing! My only (tiny) criticism was that the upper floor was very hot, but one of the servers brought a fan up to try and rectify. But...it's Summer. Don't let that put you off!

We spent a lovely evening at The Olive Tree last week. Although the restaurant was busy the staff took time to make the experience personal and special for you. The presentation of the food was excellent and it also tasted delicious! (I had the hake.) Do save room for dessert - they were equally delicious! We would definitely recommend The Olive Tree if you are visiting Wells.

We went here on Father’s Day and although busy the service was good. Food, especially the steak and the nut roast were excellent. Relaxed atmosphere and not overly pricey. Would recommend

We are visiting the area from Brisbane Australia, and I researched Wells to find a nice restaurant to celebrate my husband’s recent 75th birthday. We were very pleased with our Sunday roast meal and entrees….the roast beef was exceptionally tender, and the size of the Yorkshire pudding was immense. ( We don’t ordinarily serve Yorkshire puddings in Australia.) Would highly recommend the Sunday lunch at the Olive Tree, and I am sure their other meals are equally as tasty.

Staff were very friendly on arrival, our order was taken quickly and the food arrived soon after. We had three Sunday roast beef dinners with a side of cauliflower cheese. The beef was amazing along with all the vegetables. I would definitely recommend The Olive Tree. We were on a day trip to Wells and had chosen this restaurant after an online search.

My wife and I were visiting Wells for a few days and reserved for dinner one night at the Olive Tree as it was recommended online and where we were staying. We were not disappointed. Cosy but not cramped with very comfortable chairs! A good choice and the selections were very tasty. The service was very efficient and friendly. My only comment was that the service was a bit quick and we could have waited more between courses. However will happily eat there again one day.

Myself and my wife had an amazing meal. The quality of the food was exceptional and the service was very good. Having Jack's cider on the drinks menu was an extra bonus! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a quality meal which is good value for money. Can't wait for our next meal with you.

Really lovely resturant serving good quailty food and a comprehensive wine list. I booked a table on line in advance which was quick and easy. Welcoming and attentive staff who were very knowledgeable about the menu and its ingredients. We dined alfresco in the rear courtyard which was also lovely.
