Great pub/restaurant. Excellent food which was reasonably priced. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly, efficient service. Also very well positioned if you are passing by on the M4.
Plough – Chippenham
Need to find a restaurant in Wiltshire. There are lots to choose from in Salisbury, Swindon, Malmesbury and throughout the county. With a range of cuisines from British to Italian or Indian, the variety of places to eat in Wiltshire with its restaurants and pubs is vast. Find the right place to eat in Wiltshire with Sugarvine.

Plough – ChippenhamDO NOT BOOK YOUR PARTY AT THIS RESUTANT!!!!!!! Had a hen night in Rudi's and hire out the Luna bar for 20 people which cost us £160.. consisted off a plate of cold sausages covered in a sauce so no-one could eat it, 2 bowls of stale nacho's, some cheese and grapes on sticks and some peanuts..... complained to the manager Paul who kindly insulted me, was very aggressive and said this was a perfectly good buffet for 20 people and £160!!! refused to give us any of our money back or offer any compensation! the hen was actually sick from eating one of the sausage and went home at 10.30 as she was to ill... thanks Rudi's for ruining our hen night!!!!
Rudis – SwindonWe love Italian and we LOVE this place. Went here for the first time on Saturday - truly superb! The moment the cheesy garlic bread arrived we knew we were in for a wonderful meal. MMMmmmm delicious ............we will be visiting again and again. Cannot fault this tiny restaurant.
Amici – Bradford-on-AvonExcellent Food. Really lovely ambience especially in winter with the log fire. Traditional Gastro-pub, local yet sophisticated atmosphere. A must! The staff are very easy on the eye too which makes the entire experience all the more enjoyable.
Saladin – Chippenhamrestaurant is first class staff were really friendly and food was brilliant made my birthday that little extra special.
Kembrey Inn Brewers Fayre – SwindonRecently found myself in the area and decided to try the Sunday Lunch of succulent, tender roast lamb, accompanied by a choice of freshly cooked vegetables ( wonderful not a frozen pea in sight !) I'm not a big eater but just had to try one of the naughty looking sweets - a slice of lemon flan topped with cream - delicious ! - what a pity I've given up chocolate because those looked very tempting aswell. Very reasonably priced and the service was prompt and friendly - reassuring when one is a female travelling alone - infact I felt so at home that I decided to stay overnight in the interesting accommodation - each room being named after a famous sailor - facilities were great and breakfast was equally as good as the Sunday Lunch - pity I hadn't got time to stay long enough to try the evening meal ! - well worth a visit.
Jolly Tar – SwindonChillies is special because it creates food that is not normally associated with a standard Indian restaurant. Each dish is different from those that we have tasted at many other restaurants in this area and in the rest of England and Wales. The menu is unique and is all the more a treat when it is served with polite, congenial staff. I cannot recommend it enough and my friends all agree. Please never change, special is hard to find!
Chillies Indian Cuisine – SwindonWhat delicious food in delightful surroundings we have never been disappointed in the wonderful service ,and the warm welcome we have from the staff.
Spice of Bengal – CalneWhat a fantastic restaurant ! Totally unexpected to be honest as my previous experience of "Brewers Fayre" has been ok but nothing exceptional. The Kembrey Inn staff are lovely, very welcoming and the service was second to none. The food was presented well and came out fairly quick. Big pat on the back to the staff there, we will definitely be back.
Kembrey Inn – SwindonMy recommendation for anyone planning to eat here would be to drive a few miles further west to the George at Bathampton which is also a traditional character pub/restaurant in a stunning location which serves excellent food. The White Hart menu is geared up to the hearty meat eater and if you opt for something with a fishy or non meat theme, unless you have a gastric band then either eat first or have a starter. Places that serve starter size portions at main meal prices should have a Michelin star or a reputation for fine dining. This has neither
White Hart Inn – ChippenhamWhat a brilliant turn-around in the last year. All the food is prepared on the premises - and was really tasty. They look after the children as well. We went in on Sunday lunchtime. There were four different bitters and a good wine list. They have two miniature pigs, sheep and geese outside and there is a park for the children next to the car park. They are doing a "Credit Crunch Lunch" during the week now - £10 for 2 courses and tea/coffee afterwards.
White Horse Inn – CalneAwful place, the toilet hasnt been open for 2 years, and is full of paint pots, the food is worse than a motorway cafe, the hostess is rude and not sure they should be running a burger van in view of some comments i have heard.....
Sun Inn – SwindonThe Rattlebone Inn in Sherston is my idea of the perfect Cotswold country inn. We went last weekend and it did not disappoint with a welcoming roaring fire. The flamboyant landlord makes you feel welcome and there's always a tempting menu on offer. I went for the goat's cheese which came with a rhubarb jam - a strange combination, but it worked, followed by Gloucester Old Spot Belly of Pork, in a delicious Scrumpy and mustard sauce (comfort-food at its best)! For dessert, I chose an orange crème brulee - which came with melt-in-the-mouth shortbread. I was reliably informed by the landlord. that the free range meat is all locally sourced and the puddings are all homemade. I've also been in summer when there's been an curry evening held in the pub's garden followed by an African live band.
Rattlebone Inn – MalmesburyBad points. Rude and unfriendly Bar staff. Food takes up to 2 hours after being told 30 to 45 mins. Food cold. Too many customers complaining about time for food. Good points. The building (inside and out) is clean. Food is good value. memo..... Give it a go but expect a very very long wait for your food in busy times.
College Farm – SwindonI found the food and service great.I strongly recommend this place
Godots Bar Brasserie – MarlboroughLovely seeting by the river and aqueduct at Avoncliffe. Mothers Day Sunday Roast was the best we've ever tasted. Staff were friendly and sittings well organised so very little waiting, just time to sample the real ales. We were presented with huge oval plates of meat of our choice, loads of roasters, Yorkshire puddings, loads of gravy and an enormous plate of 5 different fresh vegetables to share but far too much to eat. Everything tasted fresh and homemade - the homemade banoffee looked wonderful but alas too full for it!
Cross Guns – Bradford-on-AvonOur favourite Italian restaurant in the Bristol and Bath area. Il chibo e molto buono. Most of the ingredients are authentically sourced from Bristol's Italian supermarket, Licata's, and the place has an courteous, family run, feel. The contemporary white walled interior and simple, tasteful, decor make a welcome change from so many contrived 'trattorias'. A short walk up from arguably the best Indian takeaway in the Bristol/Bath area. Must be something in the water.
Amici – Bradford-on-Avongreat pub ,great atmophere, very good value for money food. The staff cannot do enough for you, very nice place with no hassle of louts and idiots that you get in near by village pubs.
