This is the first negative review I have done and in general I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt but I have just been to the Wyndham Arms and experienced the worst customer service I think I have ever had. Having bought a couple of drinks and snacks and asked if we could sit outside and put up one of the umbrellas we were told to be careful as one of the outside parasols was broken. We tried to put up the parasol that we sat at but found the cord was detached from the handle mechanism used for putting up the umbrella and clearly broken. In the process of putting it up a grey haired lady, I believe possibly the owner, came out and asked us “if either of us had an education”. She then proceeded to accuse us that we had broken the parasol and told us to move away from it. Initially I thought she was joking as couldn’t believe someone would be so rude to a customer but very quickly realised she wasn’t. I worked in many restaurants, pubs and customer service roles when I was younger and would never dream of talking to a customer in this manner. We didn’t force the umbrella, we noticed the cord was already detached when we initially started to open it. I feel really shocked about being talked to in this way as a paying customer, it spoilt what had up to that point been a lovely afternoon. I certainly won’t be returning and will advise all friends in the area to avoid too. I would like to point out though the other lady working behind the bar was lovely and polite.

Went in for meal Thursday 1st Nov. Lovely decorated place with warm welcome. Had mixed Meze starter followed by Iskender Kebab. The food was excellent, but due to eating earlier in day we could not manage all that was on table. The two ladies were very friendly with gorgeous smiles that made you feel really welcome. Browsing the menu there was a really good selection that won't break the bank. I look forward to returning very soon, but will starve myself all day to leave plenty of room for the delights on the menu.

came to eat at buckles 3pm because didnt feel like eating dinner early.. sorry buddies, but had a good steak and kidney pie with gravy and chips. pity the chips is frozen chips, i wish they could do better, instead of frozen chips , i wish they cook. real potatoes chips, it's taste more better.. they would get more customers if they cook proper chips.. Thankyou for nice cup of strong black coffee, I would rather they would have strong coffee in the world to serve me, as I love to drink dark strong black coffee. With brown sugar.. Thankyou for your delightful dinner…. I've enjoyed it so much.. Thankyou...

Food was terrible,worst I ever had.Found hair in curry sauce

Visited Whatley Manor again for Sunday lunch accompanied by live jazz. Although you can go down the traditional route with a Sunday Roast, it’s nice to have options for a change and our table went for the fondue in its various iterations and mussels and fries. Whatley is a beautiful place so make sure you take the time to see the public rooms and stroll round the grounds, weather permitting. A beautiful spa too!

At last some authentic Thai food ! The Thai tapas lunch was great. can't wait for the Bury St.Edmunds branch to open where I live !

Malmesbury does not appear to have much in the way of places to eat but the lady in Boots recommended the Smoking Dog and we were not disappointed. It’s a modern-styled pub with a nice beer garden at the back. We just had a gourmet sandwich and a pint at lunchtime but it was very nice too.

Just spent a wonderful two nights at Whatley Manor. It really is a dream destination right on the southern edge of the Cotswolds near Malmesbury and Tetbury. Swiss-owned and as you might imagine the attention to detail is really exemplary. They have a two-Michelin-star fine dining restaurant and a Swiss-style brasserie and we ate in both. The brasserie doesn’t just look Swiss but also includes some Swiss dishes like fondue and Emmenthal cheese soufflé which we had for starters. We then both had the cod as a main course was a little disappointing, to be honest – in a lobster bisque with a limp lettuce leaf as accompaniment. The food in the main dining room next night was prepared and presented to a very, very high standard as you would expect from a two-star venue. They stopped the a la carte a few months back so you now have a choice of three tasting menus to go at. Personally I would have preferred the alc but the food was excellent - the only slight off-note being the veal prepared three ways which lacked a little flavour. But these really are minor quibbles as Whatley Manor is a delight and if you can stretch the budget you MUST try it!

I have been going to this establishment for years and most of the time they are good. Food is consistently great but the service can vary from great to downright appalling. My last visit will be exactly that, my last. Thanks to an incredible poor service, almost two hours to serve starters for three people and main meals for six, and that only after I complained. There was no one to 'catch their attention' for long periods so to complain I had to go and find the person who appeared to be manager. I say appeared because if he was the manager he is taking money under false pretences. He gave the impression he really was not interested if we were enjoying our stay or not. Then, when I became annoyed he did the manly thing and delegated the problem to his poor waitress.This completely spoiled my wife's birthday meal and this is the second time they have spoiled a special occasion. I will add we, a group of 6 on average, have been going there every 5 - 6 weeks for around five years. I really do not expect this to mean they have to treat us with any special treatment but I do expect a minimum level of service and staff that value your custom.

Recently moved from Gloucestershire we googled good pubs and visited the Churchill arms. Food was fantastic and all the sfaff were very friendly, We will definitely be going back very soon .....

Good fast service, menu varied, reasonable prices, clean and tidy place, I am booking my daughter birthday do tomorrow for monday.

Just back from a fabulous weekend at Lucknam Park. Some country house hotels can seem a bit tired (hardly surprising given the upkeep costs) but Lucknam was a revelation – beautifully appointed public rooms and bedrooms, friendly and well-trained staff, a lovely spa, 500 acres of grounds and two good dining options in the shape of the Michelin-starred Park Restaurant and the more informal Brasserie. We ate in both as part of their Gourmet Getaway package. Would certainly revisit and can recommend Lucknam without any reservations.

This used to be one of the best fish and chip shops in Swindon. Just eaten a cold serving of chips that was fried in second hand oil (awful).

Very good decor and best food in the town.

Popped in for a bar meal and decided to have the ham egg and chips, The food was excellent and the portions are enormous (enough for 2) The girl who served us was very friendly and helpful and the the young lad behind the bar was very good at his job as he was the only one serving the drinks and the pub was very busy when I was there. A lot of friendly banter between customers and staff especially from the lad behind the bar who they called ears for some reason made for a very enjoyable visit. I would certainly use this pub again.
