What a fabulous afternoon tea! Cedar Manor go the extra mile to make their afternoon tea special. They started with a small soup topped with spiced oil and this was followed by a small prawn cocktail. Then we were served with fresh sandwiches- the smoked salmon and lemon butter was delicious. Then came the stand of freshly made cakes and scones. My favourite was the mini lemon meringue which was so light and tangy. Homemade jam was delightfully flavoursome. The service was exceptional and the quality of everything too class.

Had a wonderful stay at the hotel and was treated to a fabulous afternoon tea Great service and food at its very best Would definitely recommend and will be returning on our next trip to the Lakes.

Great meal at the Queens Head. Made in particular by the excellent friendly service of waiter Jack! Our smoked salmon starter excellent as well as looking as pretty as a picture on the plate. Mains great too.

After reviewing all the local Hotels for Afternoon Tea, we decided on Cedar Manor. We couldn't have made a better choice. It was absolutely delicious, with great service, and very friendly atmosphere.

We had an afternoon tea, was absolutely delicious. The service and food was A** we would definitely come again.

I stayed here this weekend on a DBB. When we arrived, the receptionist showed us where everything was on the ground floor which looks fabulous since the refurb a little while ago. We went up to our room which was on the second floor and overlooked the gardens and lake. The room was spacious with a massive bed and was very clean and had everything that you would need. Dinner that evening was outstanding. We ate tempura prawns & Squid parpadelle which was very tasty, fillet steak for main, medium rare that was cooked to perfection and for dessert, a chocolate marquise and a pistachio marshmallow both of which were amazing! Breakfast the next morning was also great, a full Cumbrian breakfast for us both, not a spot of grease anywhere to be seen and served piping hot! Needless to say, we will definitely be back!!

We stopped by on a very wet Saturday afternoon for lunch, the place was busy but we managed to find a table! To eat we couldn't decide so ordered a few dishes to share. We had the duck salad (this was out of this world! A real taste explosion!) the chilli squid (again cooked to perfection) and the loaded fries (served in their own skillet which kept them piping hot!!) We will definitely be visiting again!!

Ate here this weekend, lovely place, great job they have done with the interior. We both had the fish finger sandwich which was plenty big and served with crisps and slaw. Would be nice to see some different things on the evening menu as was a little confused as to what the offering was.

I would like to say a big thank you to the team at Sugarvine who recently recommended this restaurant to me. We had 5 diners looking for great food and wine, and I have to say that none of us were disappointed. The food was of a very high standard, steaks cooked to everyone's preference, which from experience is not always the case in most places! The service was outstanding and even better was that there was absolutely no rush, the table you book for the evening is yours. Whilst we dined in the main restaurant, we ventured in to the bat area also, which was busy but not overwhelming, and again seemed to have a very nice atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend to everyone. Please also do not be put off by the name if you are vegan or vegetarian as one of our party is and there were ample choices on the menu.

Really nice pub/restaurant with a great menu and decent wine list. Very child friendly as well.

Fabulous refit. Abridged bar style menu for lunch but we ordered everything and it was very good - good English sparkling wine too. Full menu at dinner so if you’re going, go for dinner and stay over. Lovely place indeed!

Have often looked up at the Angel from the main street at Bowness but never quite made it up the hill. Big mistake! It offers something different from the other pubs, tearooms and restaurants in the town and judging by the crowd both outside and in on a miserable winter’s day, the word is out. I can imagine in summer it will be really busy with people enjoying the fab views out over the lake. Give it a try.
