Brambles Coffee Bar – Windermere
The beautiful South Lakes towns of Windermere and Bowness both sit on the shore of Lake Windermere, where you will find a delightful range of tea rooms, hotels and restaurants. At Lake Windermere you will find a wide range of watersports, or you can just relax and watch the wildlife.

Brambles Coffee Bar – WindermereStayed here during the Christmas break for a night away. The accommodation was excellent, staff all friendly and helpful and the food was also good. The breakfast was very good! Would definitely recommend for a short break.
The Howbeck – WindermereA a wonderful time at this awesome lakeland pub last weekend. We plonked ourselves in front of their amazing real fire and ate and drank ourselves silly! A must if in Bowness on Windermere
Hole in T’ Wall – WindermereBest chateaubrioand I have ever had. Staff were great, price was spot on, would truely recommend to anyone.
The Wild Boar Inn, Grill & Smokehouse – WindermereFound this place on Sugarvine and was very pleased we did. Stayed the night and had a great meal too. I loved the venison cottage pie which was so much better than a traditional one. My partner very much enjoyed his Hake with Chorizo too. We enjoyed a nice Rioja to accompany the meal. Service was good and my man liked the Ales from the four poster bed bar!
Queens Head Hotel – WindermereWe called at Brambles after a walk on the fells. The welcome was warm and inviting for both us and our two cocker spaniels. The coffee and scones were delicious. We will definitely be visiting Brambles on our future visits to Windermere!
Brambles Coffee Bar – WindermereIt was a wet Windermere lunchtime in late June when three of us called in for some repast. We were lucky enough to find a vacant table and take advantage of the soup and bacon sandwich special, an inspired choice and great value for money. It was our third attempt in three summers as it had always been full, and is easy to see why. What superb fare and value for money.
Brambles Coffee Bar – WindermereVisited this restaurant last night and have to say the food was super amazing and even though the restaurant was busy we received excellent service from the staff and I am sure the other tables did too. The table decorations were nice and matched the colour scheme of the walls and the uniform but some pictures were a bit out dated but this has no effect on the dining in this establishment. Really enjoyed spending the evening there and will definitely be going back while we are here.
Indian Ocean – WindermereAll these reviews abouve are written by birds getting knocked off by staff here is the truth. Chicken is tuf as old boots, lamb reheated time after tjme. Not good. The food is terrable, not enough room to swing a cat thats why u have just eaten it.
Prince of India – WindermereWe have lunch here every time we visit Windermere!!!! we will be there tomorrow the food is fantastic,
Sutherlands – WindermereGreat old world pub with lots of real ales on tap. Have been going here for over 20 years whenever i come to the lakes. They also serve great pub food. The pub is over 400 years old so has lots of character. Charles Dickens frequented the place back in the 19th century.
Hole in T’ Wall – WindermereSpur of the moment decision to head up to the Lakes last Friday night. Stayed at the Queens Head for the first time. Troutbeck is such a dramatic valley, close to Windermere and Ambleside but ever so peaceful. Simple to book online on their website the night before and you can even choose which room you want. This place has loads of character and we happily spent the night at a table in the bar in front of the roaring fire getting through a couple of pints of cask ale, a bottle of Chablis and a pot of mussels that was like something from Man vs Food. You will not go hungry here, that’s for sure. The room we had (8) was very spacious and comfortable and very good value. And if you like lots of cushions with your overnight stay, this is the room for you! The young and friendly staff were helpful and efficient and breakfast, which is an optional extra, was very tasty. Would highly recommend the Queens Head and we will certainly be back.
Queens Head Hotel – WindermereHello Preston! (Dave Tierney)I was pleased to read your kind comments, look me up on facebook!(I visited this restaurant many many times :)CiaoGiuseppe Carmine (former Chef at Rastellis)
Rastellis Pizzeria – WindermereLove this place! child friendly, big portions, great decor and friendly service. The children's portion sizes would suit and adult! The food is fresh and well cooked and the waiting staff helpful and friendly. Lovely
Swan Hotel – WindermereOK, the range of Chinese food I can eat is limited to 8-12 items on most menus, however I have eaten in Chinese restuarants in China, Hong Kong, across Europe
Golden Mountain – WindermereStopped of at Aunty Vals after a friend recommended it. I was not disappointed the service was excellent and the food was a very good standard. If your ever down that way you must try one of Aunty Vals scones.
Aunty Vals Tea Rooms – WindermereStayed here for a couple of nights in November for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. The food was outstanding and I can honestly say the dessert I had one night – a chocolate and butternut squash tart with mango and passion fruit – was the best I have ever had. The staff are young and friendly and this is in no way the stuffy old country house hotel that you might expect.
The Samling – WindermereGreat service, excellent food, warm atmosphere. Highly recommended
Cantina – WindermereMyCumbria Card holders receive a complimentary glass of prosecco (2 glasses per card).
