Wow what a place! Was a beautiful property before the current owners took over but no something else! No expense spared in any area of this hotel. Gorgeous art works throughout. I dined in the bar area and had the chicken cotoletta which was excellent. A guy on the next table said the accompanying mash was the best he'd ever tasted. Service was what you would expect from a place like this. Will return to dine in the main restaurant 'Stella' Great work team Linthwaite!

I strongly recommend this place if you are after quality, hearty and tasty food. A foodie place but big portions and more artisan style. Real proper food!

Great spot and good food. Very friendly service too. My usual pit stop in Bowness!

Great little cafe in Bowness with a view down the main road. Had a lovely tasty lunch served by friendly staff. I sat outside in the winter sun with my dog. Perfect.

Fresh, delicious ,great menu choices. Can’t recommend this too highly, try it soon, you will be VERY satisfied.

I had an excellent meal at the Beech Hill Hotel. The Seabass was gorgeous and was the Crème Brulee. A lovely half bottle of Rioja as I was dining solo and I thought the service very professional and friendly, particularly from the Maitre D'.

horrible. just this minute been told to go here by another local business for that "real country feel" - if the real country was Berlin during the closing stages of WWII it might be right. The glasses filthy, another couple TOLD us not to order food, the staff are really rude and awful at their jobs and the drinks are most costly than other pubs in the area (of which you will be spoilt for choice) just go somewhere else, I thought these places were shut down in the 70s

First visit since the fire and was a little apprehensive as I’ve known this beautiful old pub for years and years. I’m pleased to report that the famous four-poster bar survived the blaze intact and all-in-all it seems to have retained its character, despite the enforced makeover. I didn’t see any of the bedrooms in the main building but these were a little tired anyway so could probably have done with a refurb anyway.

Stayed the night here for our wedding anniversary recently and a had a great time. Although close to Bowness and Windermere, the Gilpin Valley is off the beaten track on the road to Crook and a real haven. The hotel was lovely – we had a great room with a huge copper bath. The bar has a roaring fire and the restaurant is great if you are a carnivore like me. We chose the rib of beef on the bone. The Wild Boar has its own private woodland too so next morning we had a stroll in the (unexpected) sunshine. Highly recommended for a Lakeland escape.

What a great little pub, hidden away in the back streets of Bowness. Full of character and on a crisp winter’s day with the fire roaring you can’t beat it. For summer, they have a small terrace out front but truth be told it’s winter when this place really comes into its own.

Went to Tapios for lunch and was well impressed. Lovely tapas in central Windermere. Will return at night for a few vinos too!

Our favourite coffee shop. excellent food, best coffee and staff really nice. We like to sit outside in all weathers with our border collie moss and people watch ,love it

What a great pub that oozes character!

Warm welcome and the customers were nice as well!!! Great location and just off the beaten track to ensure nice mix of locals and holiday makers. Will be back.

Poor pub,no warning signs about lit candles on window ledge,and this burnt my 150 pound jacket,and all I got has a apology was the shops had a sale on. Iwas lucky this was just my jacket but god for bid if this was a child this could of been really nasty.

Fantastic stay at Langdale Chase again. Lovely autumn get away!
