the ship has a great location and views but the service and food is poor to fair which is a shame .
The beautiful South Lakes towns of Windermere and Bowness both sit on the shore of Lake Windermere, where you will find a delightful range of tea rooms, hotels and restaurants. At Lake Windermere you will find a wide range of watersports, or you can just relax and watch the wildlife.
the ship has a great location and views but the service and food is poor to fair which is a shame .
My Hubby & I visited Amanda's tea room last Year in Sept, I find it superb as I'm unable to eat Dairy products, & I found that I was able to enjoy a piece of her delicious cake. well recommend if your going to the Lakes. J.Naylor (Mrs)
Brambles Coffee Bar – Windermerei visited this restaurant last saturday, it was shocking to see it so busy at this time of year, despite it being full the front of house staff made sure everybody was comfortable and were enjoying the evening, the food was also very good. recommend this place to everyone
Prince of India – Windermereme and my partner visited this restaurant 3 months ago and again today, the decor has improved significantly with all the modern furniture and lighting, i recognised the food and the staff were all still the same and were very welcoming just like before. definitely will eat again here next time. loving the refurbishment lol
Prince of India – Windermerei visited the lake district and stayed for 6 nights in bowness with my girlfriend, we tried the 2 indian restaurants in bowness and were disappointed, we ended up eating kebabs for 3 nights until the hotel receptionist recommended the prince of india in windermere, we thought we would try our luck and as it happens we were shocked the food was absolutely delicious, and thats coming from a couple who live in curry mile , manchester. the staff made our stay in windermere worthwhile, so for anyone visiting the lakes, this is the place to go for
Prince of India – Windermereme and my family went to the prince of India restaurant the food was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly, helping us all to choose the right dishes to suit our appetites, highly recommend this restaurant if you are passing by Windermere

Prince of India – WindermereVisited twice during half term and our children were warmly welcomed by the owner offering them toys to play with which helped us all relax and enjoy the enormous slices of cake and welcome drinks. Would recommend and will be back. :)

Brambles Coffee Bar – Windermerevery nice breakfast ,enjoyed the peaceful setting outside, no traffic after being in the city.
Aunty Vals Tea Rooms – WindermereThe best food ever, we have been going the lakes for the last 10 yrs, rasellis every time. We have even traveled from our home in oswaldtwistle just for a meal, then straight home after. The trip takes around 1 hour 15 mins. That's how good the food is. BBQ ribs, chips, garlic bread, veal cannelloni, yum yum yum yum.
Rastellis Pizzeria – WindermereGreat place to stay if you want to be in the thick of it in Bowness. Contemporary styling in the lakes is fairly rare and this place has it.
Angel Inn – Windermeremy daughter and i visited Amanda's tea rooms 3weeks ago what a pleasant person she is well worth visiting
Brambles Coffee Bar – WindermereHighly, highly recommend this restaurant. My husband and I were on holiday from Australia and decided to dine in here while we were staying in the Lake District for a couple of days. I wish I could remember the name of the dish that I had, lol, it was a vegetarian dish, but it was the best Indian either of us had ever tasted. That was a couple of years ago and to this day we rave about the food to anyone here in Australia who will listen to us, lol! Very small premises, but efficient polite waiters, and very busy even on a cold winters night, so to me that says a lot about a restaurant. Would go there again again next time we visit the Lake District when we are in the UK
Prince of India – WindermereVisited last year 2010 out of curiosity....because we had watched Brambles progress on TV. EXCELLENT is the word I can use to describe the place, food, and friendly service. Very relaxed and in no hurry to get rid of us and it was continually full the rest of the week. Will be visiting again this year on our holiday.!!
Brambles Coffee Bar – WindermereHave called in twice during July & Aug. 2011 for both lunch and afternoon tea. Excellent, wholesome, well presented food, tasty and just as you'd like it - if you'd made it yourself. Very high standards of cleanliness and most welcoming and helpful, polite staff. Will become a regular calling place for us when in Lakes.
