This was my first visit after my husband had been at me to go for ages but we had not been to York for over a year. I was not disappointed! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff were friendly and very efficient. We had the special banquet for 2 and all the food was cooked perfectly and the flavours were very well balanced. We couldn't eat it all and they asked if we wanted to take some home and of course we said yes. Will definitely go again!

First time at Oscars in what must be 10 years. Didn't disappoint . The food was absolutely delicious and the service second to none. Would highly recommend Oscars to anyone.

We had a lovely relaxed lunch at Oscars, following a graduation ceremony in the minster. We were a party of six, booked in advance. The bistro was bustling, but not heaving and we had a great meal. Food was lovely, and the staff were really nice. Service was nice and relaxed, and the meal was great value for money. I’d definitely recommend and would come again.

A fabulous meal for my son’s birthday. Excellent service, friendly staff and amazing food. We ordered a set meal, it was all served hot, not greasy and all really fresh and tasty. We were given an option for a rest before main course so our starters could settle which was welcome. It isn’t cheap but I am happy to pay for excellent food and service. Will definitely return.

We have been to Oscars a few times now and they have never let us down. The staff are always polite and friendly. They are always on it, wether it be getting drinks or taking the food order and then quickly taking away the used plates and empty glasses. Very good service and very good food.

Excellent authentic Chinese food, we where on holiday in York & stayed at the premier inn a short walk away.

We ate on Monday 24th October. The atmosphere what really good and the food was excellent as it had been when we have eaten at Oscars.

We visited Maxis for lunch with a friend . we were welcomed and taken directly to our table (which had been reserved) and drinks ordered. We chose from the lunch menu and starters were quickly with us followed by mains Staff were attentive and pleasant the food was very food... our friend declared it to be amongst the best she had had in a long time we ended our lunch with a pot of tea and chat time, we were never hurried at any stage

We booked a large gathering of 16 people for a special occassion. The service and food were great. Staff friendly and helpful and not too in your face, giving time for the party to talk etc without being interupted. Table was decorated and a smaller table provided for gifts etc to be placed on. Couldnt fault!

We visited 8th October 2022 . To say we were the first ones in when they opened on a Saturday afternoon the music was way too loud . Quick to come to us for our order , luckily we sort of knew what we wanted before we got there. Quick to serve us our food. The only thing that annoyed us was about every 10 minutes someone came to see if we were okay and needed any more drinks. Value for money as usual .

Booked in advance and did preorders on arrival we had a table with the wrong number of seats, no one knew about our pre orders either, we had prawn cocktail to start and it had no sauce on and was covered In coriander. The mains were nice but it was just disappointing really as other times it’s been really nice.

Had a meal on the evening off 20th September with my works team. Great menu with plenty of choice. The service was very quick and very professional. The brands served by the Bar were very good with a wide range of drinks for everyone. Would recommend this location and will be going back with my team again.
