Fantastic food, full of flavour. Cooked perfectly. Staff always friendly and accomodating. Service fast and attentive. Can't fault the Rivers Edge, and would highly recommend over and over. We will definitely return again and again

A late afternoon form Sunday lunch. Booked using the online portal. Didn’t receive confirmation however an email to The Rivers Edge had confirmation sent. A busy pub we had a dog with us so we’re sat up in the bar area. A friendly welcome and we were shown our table. Drinks order taken, water and treats for the dog. Menus provided and then decisions made. Roast pork for my wife, lamb rump for me. The food arrived with a good selection of vegetables and plenty too, along with a good helping of gravy. Staff were attentive and were not overbearing, keeping an eye on our drinks and asking if we would lime them topped up. Would rate this as one of the best Sunday roasts we’ve had and along with the great service is well worth a visit, though booking would be advised as walk ins were being sadly advised nomavai;ability.

7 of us and all of us enjoyed the roast the best around. I challenge anyone to find a better roast because it wont happen.

I love the Castle and have eaten here on many occasions. However Sunday lunch yesterday was disappointing due to beef not being as it should be . I hope the kitchen received my feedback as I wouldn’t want the reputation of the restaurant to suffer .

We’ve been enjoying our annual trips to Newport, which for the past few years has included dining at The Secret Garden. As ever our visit last Sunday didn’t disappoint. Standard of food and presentation was superb. The staff were as ever very friendly and informative. Our only disappointment was that it was all over so quickly. Thank you to everyone who made it such an enjoyable experience.

Excellent meal in relaxed, cordial surroundings with attentive staff; so impressed that we returned for a second, equally fulfilling, dinner during the week. Certainly I would recommend the restaurant to family and friends.

Such a lovely place, wonderful food, service and atmosphere. The garden and fire pit are very special. The best food we had in Pembrokeshire - will be back!

This restaurant is excellent. The food is of very high quality and the wine list is well chosen. The kitchen garden at the back is worth a look to investigate the herbs used in cooking. The pods outside would make a lovely cosy setting for small parties in summer, we were seated in the main dining area.

Lovely evening meal with friends in the restaurant on a busy Friday. We made the small error of going through to the Secret Garden bar for pre-dinner drinks and as a result our food was rather later than we’d intended. Had we known it was so busy, we’d have gone straight to the table or taken the menu with us to order more quickly. However, the food was delicious (pork and one vegetarian aubergine fondue though I couldn’t work out why it’s called ‘fondue’!). Service warm and helpful. Such a nice venue for a special treat.

Came here with a party of 12 for Sunday dinner, the food was outstanding and the service was on point regularly checking up if we needed anything and very friendly staff would recommend this place to everyone

A good Sunday lunch but the menu always seems the same on a Sunday and it would be good to have a choice of lamb or pork or fish.
