A bacchanalia is a gathering of people eating, drinking, partying and having fun and Bacchanalia on Chapel Walks, just off Manchester's bustling King Street, is where you will find just that. On the ground floor there is plush booth seating surrounding the large cocktail bar where you will find the fancy pants bartenders mixing and shaking some of Manchester's best cocktails. On the first floor is the light and airy restaurant where you can watch the chefs preparing your food in the open kitchen. The food is of a modern British style but given a Mediterranean twist . The food is prepared fresh daily and there will always be a minimum of ten daily specials to choose from. When the weather decides to play ball you can eat alfresco on the outside terrace and watch the shoppers go by as you relax with a chilled bottle of wine. If it's private hire you're after then the amphitheatre on the second floor provides the perfect venue for private dining, birthday parties, Christmas parties or corporate hire for meetings, product launches and networking events. Bluu is housed in what was formerly a fish market in Manchester's Northern Quarter. It incorporates an 80-cover brasserie, a ground floor bar that can accommodate 240, an intimate basement bar and a private outdoor terrace perfect for alfresco drinking and dining. Ego Mediterranean Restaurant in Bramhall joins a fast-growing stable of venues which in the northwest includes Heswall, Liverpool, Stockton Heath and Prestwich. The beautifully decorated 110-seat restaurant has recently been refurbished and has a spacious dining and bar area and exposed brick walls, dark wooden tables and chairs and polished wooden floors. Seating is on various different levels. At Kebabish Original in Cheetham Hill, it's all about the 'thrill of the grill'. Everything is cooked fresh to order but it's fair to say that the flame-grilled and barbecued dishes are the stand-outs with the signature Mixed Grill -- pieces of chicken, lamb, chicken wings, lamb chops and sheek kebabs - pretty much obligatory. The menu offers a choice of Indian and Pakistani cuisine, loosely specialising in the cuisine of Pakistan's Northwest Frontier province, with just a hint of the Med.added into the mix. There's nothing little about this classy Chinatown restaurant, particularly after a million-pound makeover a few years back. Dragon motifs, Terracotta soldiers and lucky red decor set the tone for an upmarket and contemporary dining experience. Hidden away next to the new Spinningfields development, Shimla Pinks is approaching ten years of age - although you'd never know it. Polished wooden floors, leather seats, fantastic lighting and a huge bar set the tone for a contemporary and upmarket Indian dining experience, one that continues to set the benchmark in Manchester. The restaurant is named after India's equivalent of the Sloane Rangers and the menus focus on north Indian and Punjabi cuisine.
