Bombay Palace Ryde – Isle of WightWe have just had a lovely meal the food was good. I was hot and we didnt have to wait to long. Also the staff was friendly all together a lovely lunch out thank you Woodpecker Waterlooville
The Woodpecker – WaterloovilleHappy a lovely family afternoon could not of asked for a better brithday Many Thank Michelle xx
Banana Wharf Hamble – SouthamptonAvoid! Rude, antagonistic and overbearing landlord; sexist and misogynistic. Food terrible, beer okay.
Obelisk Hotel – SouthamptonWent to the pier view with my family and the mussels were overpriced for the portion size as well as overcooked, my sons burger was rare when it should've been cooked through. When then staff asked if everything was alright they did nothing, why bother asking ?Definitely one to miss
The Pier View – Isle of Wighthad breakfast and went to curry night and was absolutely amazed by the value and lovely food :)
The Wheatsheaf Inn – Isle of WightI have been here on a few occasions in the last three weeks for lunch had a roast dinner was excellent also I had fish and chips was also very good .the deserts are great to friendly staff .
The Apsley House – SouthseaMy husband and I had dinner here on two occasions excellent food and very welcoming and friendly service would highly recommend this
The Apsley House – SouthseaThis place is run by an arrogant cook who can't cook a steak properly! don't complain or he will come out of the kitchen and be abusive to you and your family as it happened to us yesterday evening... appaling!
The Ship Inn – FordingbridgeAte here on saturday evening having only just discovered it a couple of weeks ago. Food was ok this time, the starter of Fish Mezze was oily, greasy and way too heavy on fried stuff. Mains of sea bass and lamb were good, pudding (we have a sharer plate) two out of three were excellent (tarte tatin and the creme brulee). But very disappointed to hear it is owned by a big chain and that the food isn't really created in house, just shipped in ready to cook/heat up. Very very disappointed. So will not be returning.
The Old Forge – WinchesterThe Bat and Ball Hambledon used to have a reputation for good food and hospitality and recently that has changed. The previous landlord did everything to make the diner welcome; there were little personal touches everywhere and he used to make sure that the diners were comfortable by circulating amongst them asking whether they were enjoying their meals etc. Nowadays that has changed; the service is impersonal and there is a degradation in the menu and the quality of foodserved. I have been there three times since the change of management and on each occasion bitterly disappointed with the dining experience. They no longer provide bread rolls prior to the meals, Unless you arrive early on a Sunday the roast meats become tired as the afternoon wears on. I complained today regarding one of the items delivered as it was undercooked only to be told that the matter would be referred to the chef and if we had told them earlier it could have been heated further. It was our fault for not letting them know. Under the previous management one of the serving staff would have attended the table a few minutes after we had started eating enquiring whether the meals were alright. If there was a problem the manager would have it replaced immediately and then adjusted the bill. Another diner was complaining of his cold roast dinner and said that he would be taking up the matter with Fullers. Now the Bat and Ball is just another pub that serves meals and from my experience not very well. After 32 years of reasonable dining quality i am unlikely to return unless the service ( are you okay guys!) and the food significantly improve.
The Bat and Ball (Hambledon) – WaterloovilleLovely people, great service. Food was mouth watering. I will recomed to all curry lovers
Everest Spice Nepalese Restaurant – PortsmouthThe staff were really helpful and made me a gluten free pizza to take away. When I got home hopefully the pizza was a bit cold and chewy but still very tasty.
Bella Italia – SouthamptonEat there on a Wednesday evening (29th Feb). Although the restaurant was quiet (1 other couple), the standard of food was excellent. They had a 3 course special for £20 a head that particular evening which was excellent value for money. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My wife and I would recommend this place highly and when next in the area will visit again.
Barnaby’s Restaurant – SouthseaBasic Chinese buffet lunch, sometimes inferior quality meat, mostly deep-fried starters. OK for students but anyone interested in real Chinese food would be better off going elsewhere.
Water Margin – PortsmouthThe best place in the world. thank
The Shoulder of Mutton – HookI have been coming to this restaurant for nearly 30 years!! We now come at least twice a month. We have seen three changes in management/ownership but always the style and menu have remained pretty much unchanged. Their pizzas cannot be bettered in my opinion, their signature garlic bread is indulgent and delicious. The atmosphere is warm and easy going, child friendly but not Unruly. I cannot praise this unassuming, charming and soul satisfying little restaurant enough. It is part of our family tradition and we look forward to every visit.
Piccolo Mondo – Southamptonincredibly good value and service. never had a bad meal, nor heard one complained about. location is brilliant as well... worth the visit everytime
