Having been to the Malt Shovel in the past we enjoyed the food so I booked for my birthday with my wife and arrived at 12.15 to find the door locked. After knocking on the door without success we tried again, this brought a response of "hold on I'm coming," the door was opened by a waitress and when I stood aside to let my wife,"are you coming in or not?" Having established we had booked in advance we were given a table in the corner although only one table was occupied. We asked for another table and ordered two gin and tonics.There were 3 waiters and 1 waitress, no attempt was made to bring our drinks and after 13 to 14 minutes we got up and walked out. We shall not be returning.

This place is fantastic. Frank the owner makes everyone feel welcome and service is very good, the food is excellent and prices very cheap and the hygiene levels are outstanding. other cafes take note. A 5-star cafe.

My boyfriend went over the Ruby to get some food, we endend up having chicken balls and chips about half 10 this was. There was alot of food and it looked ok and tasted fine, three hours later we both was throwing up! Will never eat from there again! Obviosly the food werent cooked right...absolutely disgusted!

Went in on 225/2014. Had All Day Breakfast with cup of Tea. 1 Cottage Pie with Mashed Spuds and 3 Veg. 1 Chicken Chips and Mushy Peas.1 x coffee 1 x Tea (all mugs) £14.15p. Nearly passed out at price. Food was amazing top quality. People so nice and friendly. We will be back. Worth a visit, don't be put off by price as the food far ways out the tiny amount it costs. 5 STAR

What an experience, food was amazing service for fantastic, highly recommend.

The food in the vine has gone downhill, meals were not up to standards of what it should be. I was disgusted, it was a complete waste of money.

Food is excellent but the service is rubbish, waiters are very rude and slow.

Hi can you send me your opening times also were can I park as we are dissapionted that your branch in bull ring has closed really really upset my daughter loves your food and she was crying yesterday as we couldn't manage to get to broad street I await your response .

Had a fantastic meal, great little pub, good traditional ales for hubby, will be going again very soon.

I loved the food hear it was authentic Varangian cuisine and the meat was beautiful and tender. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and takeaway, it's brilliant!Thank you.

A very friendly restaurant with very pleasant staff and the food was to die for. We found it the best we have been too.

Ordered "stew chicken" with plain rice last week, absolutely stunning food, tasted beautiful. Unfortunately, ordered the same this week, terrible, I actually got "rice and peas" , (I am allergic to kidney beans !) hence my order for plain rice, the chicken was boney,and tasteless, and "blow your brains out" hot from chillies...so it looks as tho my search for consistently good takeaway carribean food continues.

Hadn't been before -- had lovely meal . I had plaice which was particularly enjoyable as it doesn't appear on pub menus very often. Certainly the "plaice" for me in future.

Ordered takeaway chicken balti was like eating fresh air no taste what so ever so bland food was stone cold would definitely not recommend.
