Having happened upon The Brassmill a few months ago we decided to go there on 3rd February for a birthday celebration. This time we were not as lucky. There were 6 of us and 2 had fish pie which I can only describe as "sloppy and wet" - a spoon would have been better than a knife and fork. One person had gamon steak which was overcooked and another person had burnt sausages! That left 2 people with ok meals. I was shocked to note that 3 250ml glasses of a mediocre rose wine came to £18.75 - £6.25 a glass! We have another birthday coming up in a few weeks time and will make certain we don't repeat this disappointment.

We a group of 7 adults visited the Albion Pub Portishead Bristol on Sat 2nd of Feb for drinks and a meal following attendance at an internment service, as we were waiting to order food for everyone at 12.00 o'clockWe ordered drinks including tea for two peopleWhen the tea arrived with 2 cups etc on a tray there was only 1 tea bag in the pot . With the amount of water in the pot it was so weak so one of our party asked for another tea bag .The barman then said it will be 1.15 for the tea bag what. ? He'd didn't even offer another pot hot water .I returned the pot of tea which was not fit for purpose and requested a refund of the extra 1.15 he said I had to play for it!???!!!!!!!!I then informed the Barman that we not be using this pub again or recommend it to anyone else We left to find a professionally run place that had customer service and with more pleasant surroundings and people behind the bar who were there to provide a fair and honest serviceI would rather the 1.15 went to charity than to the jobs worth unprofessional pub It would probably explain why there was only one person in a very large pub when we arrived

A huge dissapointment!Having heard good reviews about Junniper, we purchased a 5 course taster menu via living social. On arrival, the table was by the door, ambience poor, decor filthy and staff surly. The food wasn't an interesting taster menu but a poor attempt at a 5 course meal showing little originality and poor presentation. I spent half the night on the loo and interestingly we met another couple we knew doing the same deal and subsequently discovered that one of them also came down with an upset stomach. The restaurant carries a health warning and should definitely to be avoided.

I visited the Curfew Inn dinning room last night with 5 friends for their 3 course Christmas meal. The starters were good, although you can't really go wrong with pate and salmon. 3 of my friends had the nut roast, which they said was very dry and salty and didn't really enjoy at all. The vegetables were cold and although a replacement was offered this didn't arrive until we had nearly all finished our meals. The steak bavette was very good but the potatoes were not cooked enough and slightly hard. The christmas pudding, ordered by one of my friends had to be sent back because it was cold only to be returned not much warmer. Two of us ordered the trifle and couldn't really eat it - the cream was over whipped and it contained so much port and brandy (not mentioned in the description on menu) it was overpowering and not a nice combination. The service wasn't bad but there were long periods with no waiter in the dinning room as he was also manning the bar downstairs. All in all a very disappointing experience. This isn't a place I would recommend and certainly won't be returning.

Would never step foot in this establishment, there are plenty of other places that are nearby with much better service that won't try to rip you off, very unprofessional and unreliable if you are thinking of organising a meal/event here. What sort of business would try to charge you extra one week before a Christmas party and then hurl abuse/accusations/threats and call you liars even though we had confirmation of costs in writing??? Ruined a Christmas party for 20 small children Doesn't deserve the trade, plenty more deserving businesses nearby.

Terrible experience. Manager threatened us and cancelled our booking at the last minute as we refused to pay an increase £150 for an increase in food and room hire costs despite having the original price in writing six weeks before.

Been staying in the area for 1 week and have been to the pub twice now. Once for a Sunday carvery which was brilliant and great value for money. Also went for a steak dinner. The steak was cooked to perfection. Got speaking to the manageress who tells me she has taken over running the pub. Really friendly and hospitable - keep up the good work. Would definitely recommend this.
