Fishers Restaurant – CliftonNot at all happy this evening. Found a hair in salad, waitress laughed it off. When I received bill and asked what the chef had said, she repiled, he is sorry but he does not have long hair. The hair was short in any case! She then short changed me £5 after reluctantly agreeing to a reduction of £2!
The Biblos on the Hill – BishopstonSunday 9th of August evening. A large sign says 2 courses menu 9.95. In a very small font, it says from Monday to Saturday. What is the point of putting up this large sign if not to mislead people?
Brasserie Blanc – BathBest I have tasted for years. Took me back in time.
Winscombe Fish Bar – WinscombeAlways had a consistant great sunday carvery.
Harvest Moon – BridgwaterI have been going to GIGI's in Glastonbury for well over 20 years. My children have grown up eating there and I took my wife on one of our first dates there. Why ? Simply the nicest pizzas ever, especially their garlic pizza. We love GiGi'S.. Service is great and the waitors are always friendly. They even gave me a box of Peroni glasses once. Please don't ask them for some. I have been going for over 20 years, it was my birthday!
Gigi’s – GlastonburyFantastic and amazing pub food great venue for couples family's and even dog friendly. Sunday carvery is so good 4 choices of meat homemade yorkies andfresh vevegetables. Amazing real ale and staff that are friendly and helpful. One of the best pubs around Somerset!!
The Enmore Inn – BridgwaterThis restaurant has just opened. I went on consecutive nights, first with a friend and then with my partner and teenage children. I enjoyed it both times. Even though it's part of an expanding chain it doesn't feel like it. The service was excellent and the food was excellent. It was also packed and had a lively atmosphere. There's a takeaway menu too which we'll look forward to using too
Giggling Squid – CliftonWe are four ladies that used a Groupon voucher last Tuesday. I must say we throughly enjoyed the steak meal we had. We all said we would go again. Your staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome.. Many thanks for a lovely evening. Mrs Pam Payne.
The Salthouse and The Grill On The Hill – ClevedonDivine new Thai restaurant on the former Strada site. Word has soon got out and it's quite difficult to get a table without pre booking, even at lunch times. The best Thai restaurant in Wiltshire, by some distance.Try the salt and peppers squid. Perfect. Tremendous value and lovely staff.
Giggling Squid – CliftonUnsatisfactory visit. We took my elderly parents to Scarletts in Clevedon. We ordered flapjacks, for Mother and I. Mother managed to cut a very small piece off, and nearly lost the lot on the floor. Flapjack very hard indeed. Complained to manager, and I demonstrated with my fork how hard Flapjack was. I was told to stop stabbing at it, and without being asked, was presented with 2 Brownies. I said that I would like carrot cake. Very bad service obviously only concerned with reselling Flapjack which had been handled by us. To top it all, when my daughter paid, she was asked for an extra £1 as it was carrot cake.
Scarletts – ClevedonThe warm welcome was particularly appreciated on a rather cold chilly night and the superb food and excellent service made for thoroughly enjoyable evening. We were a party of 6 having various starters and mains. Everyone without exception thought their food to be excellent. Both the landlord (Colin) and his wife took time to check that everything was to our satisfaction and to engage in small conversation. A small homely pub with a good menu choice is definitely recommended. We will be returning.
Queen Adelaide The – BlagdonWent here for my sisters birthday on Monday. There was 15 of us we all went to order food, only for 11 of us to be told there was no lamb, gammon, fish or pie!!!Every time we changed our order they had ran out of whatever it was so some didn't eat. After our food a couple of us ordered a lattee only to be told they ran out of MILK their reason was they have everything delivered on a Tuesday. So if you are thinking of going just don't go on a monday because you will he disappointed.
The Wishing Well – Longwell GreenSuperb food at a really nice, welcoming pub. Somerset is well blessed with decent pubs, but this is right up there with the best.
The Bell Inn at Standerwick – FromeWe had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Queen Adelaide today. The service was very good, we were made to feel very welcome, by the owners and staff. The food was really enjoyed by all 5 of us. I phoned a few days ahead of our booking to discuss my dietary requirements and nothing was too much trouble. Which meant I could enjoy my meal and socialise without worry about what I was going to eat. I would highly recommend you them a try.
Queen Adelaide The – BlagdonHad a brilliant meal here today. Really good service and quality food. The only thing I would say is that the main meals were far too big. So a lot of wasted food. Owners were really nice and so were all the staff. Could not do enough for us. Well done.
