We booked a table for Sunday Lunch as we heard that there were new chefs producing a more homely menu. We weren't disappointed. I had the 7 hour roast Beef Brisket which came with a Yorkshire Pudding, Roast Potatoes a ball of stuffing, roasted carrot and parsnip. My wife had the Lamb Shank with the same root-veg and we shared a dish of veg that included swede, broccoli and red cabbage. The meat was tender, the roasties were banging and everything was hot on arrival. The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic and we were well served with a decent amount of mint and horseradish sauce. We stuck to a single course although the starters did sound tempting and the desserts looked good as they passed. Not the cheapest in the area although the quality of food and service did make it good value. Our wine was properly chilled and came with an ice bucket. I know this Inn is under relatively-new ownership and this was our first visit for lunch. We have already booked a Saturday lunch table for a couple of weeks time. Well worth a visit and I couldn't find fault.
