Excellent bistro type restaurant. Good choice of menu and attentive quick service. We would certainly frequent this establishment which is, clearly, well managed. The Valentine's evening had a delightful menu menu and the candles on the tables made it extra special. Plenty of choice of wines and beers etc.

Wonderfully attentive staff, efficient service and outstanding Sunday lunch. I have a severe peanut allergy and felt reassured that my food would be safe. We will definitely be returning regularly.

Manager seemed to be very involved checking every was running smoothly and checking in on customers. Food was great, well cooked, plenty of lovely gravy which is a big plus fir me alone. Maybe more roasties. Loved the melt in mouth beef and sizeable portions. Felt for a table of 5 with only 4 eating we were pushed for space on the table which is always a sticking point and seems to be a common problem in a lot of places. But a point I think that needs looking at. Atmosphere was a bit dull in the conservatory area...maybe some music or colours, plants, flowers...lighting? Would I come back again. Absolutely - but I do also have other places I enjoy with better atmosphere just not as good food.

The Inn At Rhiwderin – NewportOur second visit since the new owners took over this time for Sunday lunch. We booked for mid afternoon, and although it was very busy and quite noisy when we arrived, service was quick. The food was nicely presented and very tasty, and desserts were very good too. Only minor points were that we needed more gravy, though when asked we had extra provided, and my apple pie should have been on a warm plate. The staff who served us were very friendly and helpful, so top marks for service. We hope to come back soon, but when it's a bit quieter.

The food we did have was gorgeous though - service was maybe a little slow but the food was worth the wait!

The Last Inn – NewportI frequently visit the last inn for an afternoon drink. The service is always polite and friendly., the atmosphere is clam and relaxed. When I have eaten here the food has been outstanding, ( lovely mushroom bruschetta ) and if I’ve ever had any issues the staff are always quick to resolve them. It’s a 10/10 for me.

The Last Inn – NewportWe had eaten last summer before with large family gathering. So having a child free weekend we booked a table. Ordered 2 8oz rump steak one with mash one with chips. When it arrived looked lovely however looks can be deceiving. Everything had been seasoned with lots of ground pepper and spoilt the flavour of the meat. Considering it was medium rare it was not the best. Huge amount of fat and extremely chewy. We both left a big piece meat as we found it hard work. We mentioned to the staff our disappointment at the quality of the steak we were served The only reply we had was we will pass on your comments to the chef. As a result of our comments we were not offered a desert menu… so it came to paying the bill It took for ever to sort out. I was honest and gave them details of everything it came to £39. 2 x steak at &14.50 Extra veg £4 1 pint of ship yard 1 pint of lime and soda Yet was asked if we had wine… unsure if our bill was mixed up with some one else’s. So after the highs of huge family get together last summer this experience was disappointing to say the least. Hopefully it was a one off, but it’s going to be a long before we try again. Although restrictions have more less been lifted tables where we were sat near the bar were a little too close for comfort. As for the evening entertainment we had sit for an hour listening to some fella tuning his drum … with our table more or less next to amp we left with his constant thumping ringing in our ears.
