Always supported this great inn - food consistently good. Our steaks last night were very good but paying just short of £100 for 1 starter, 2 steaks with sauce and a side dish, 1 bottle of wine and 2 bottles of water felt a little on the expensive side for this venue. These are the sort of prices you expect to pay at the nearby Red House which has a much more extensive menu selection and a significantly greater investment in ambiance. We love each for their own qualities but honestly, if we have to pay that much we will go to the Red House.

Food was lukewarm. Waitress did say she could get it warmed up, but as I had waited so long for it to arrive I declined her offer. Besides roast potatoes were rubbery as it was!! Some of the Chips that hubby & daughter had were lukewarm as well. Neither waitress who served us or the member of staff who we paid and asked us ‘how our food was’ apologized for the lukewarm food we were served. Would we go there again? Probably not Would we recommend this as a place to eat? Probably not.

Third visit to the newly renovated inn. Food is fantastic not one issue. I’m super fussy too. Staff are lovely and attentive. Will be back asap.

Friendly, welcoming staff at this village Inn. Good choice of meals at a reasonable price. Caters for all tastes. My husband had the vegetarian spicy bean burger while I enjoyed a perfectly cooked fillet steak. Delicious desserts.

Lovely lunch - excellent food all piping hot which was great. Service lacked attention to detail. Order taken quickly, first course arrive quickly. After we had finished table was not cleared for 15 minutes despite numerous staff walking past and looking at the table. When main course arrived, had to ask for condiments and needed another knife as one used for bread. Staff chatting at the bar loudly could be heard over the piped music. Did not make for a relaxed atmosphere. Not asked if we wanted more drinks. Staff need more training.

First time to eat inside in the evening, had previously had lunch on several occasions in the pleasant beer garden. This time we had a delicious steak, the restaurant was full, but we had really efficient, friendly service from everyone. There was a lovely atmosphere in the dining area, we will definitely be back and would be more than happy to recommend anyone to visit this great little local pub.

Food was lovely service very poor as we waited for 1 hour 20 minutes to be served our meal. Gave us the wrong gin and also wrong bottle of wine to what we ordered. Bill was double what it should of been due to an error on their part. We were given a bottle of wine in the house when we complained but no apology offered for all the poor service points. Only saving Grace was the food was excellent.

Popped in for Sunday lunch lamb was beautiful, and the nut roast went down a treat with the other half finished off with a lovely chocolate tart and cheese board. Will be back when passing again
