I love this place. In terms of Spanish tapas it's the real deal, authentic and run by people who know what Spanish tapas should be. The food is good and I always want to order everything on the menu so I'm going to have to keep going back! If I were to criticise anything (reluctantly) it would be the quality of the churros. But I lived in Madrid and ate churros from their churrerias so I know how good they can be when they're made fresh. I may be wrong but I think they might be a frozen version and not freshly made which is why they're a but on the dense side, but we still ate the whole lot, what's not to like about deep fried dough covered in sugar and dipped in chocolate?! Can't wait fir my next visit!

We had a fabulous end of holiday meal with our family of 7. We had planned to go to Majorca, but were unable to so came to Macclesfield instead, and had a lovely time! The wonderful tapas and paella suited all dietary requirements of the party and we enjoyed the sangria too. Sitting outside in the secret garden was lovely with comfortable seating. The service was quick and attentive with friendly staff. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone .

Our first visit didn't disappoint! Gorgeous food and generous portions with service from great staff. We will definitely be dining there again.

We went for the first time on 27/08/21. Really enjoyed our evening - lively atmosphere, friendly staff and good food and wine at a reasonable price. Will definitely return.

Superb find down a side street in Macc. Lovely food, great service and an all round lovely evening. Will be going back as superb value for money.

This was the second time we'd been to the Lilac Cottage and both times the food has been excellent, especially the tapas. It's beautifully decorated inside and the staff are all first class and very friendly. The price is very reasonable and overall a great choice for dining out. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our meal here and would absolutely come again. Only minor issue was when we arrived, the lady seating us (we had booked and arrived on time) was clearly unhappy with something and appeared to have difficulty seating us, audibly stating to another staff member " do you see what I have to deal with" which didn't make us feel particularly welcome. Aside from this, the food was lovely and the waitress serving us was polite and attentive.

The best food and service in Lymm! The staff are incredible, cannot do enough for you. Highly recommended

Appalling. One of our party ordered a beef dinner. It came covered in lamb gravy which he couldn't eat. The waitress offered to give him another dry dinner or one with gluten free gravy which he kindly declined as the lamb juices had upset him. No problem she said there'll be no charge for your dinner. We continued with our decidedly average meal and then asked for the bill. Not only were we charged in full but there were extra drinks on it. I spoke to the barperson who told me they couldn't take the money off as they'd offered us an alternative and anyway we hadn't told them we didn't want the gravy. Really! I didn't expect lamb gravy on a beef dinner so why would I think to ask you not to serve it. The outcome I had to pay as they'd prepared it. If I'd had a second meal they'd have deducted it. Total farce. Incidentally 2 weeks prior to this my Mum was grossly overcharged £160 for 4 adults and 2 children's meals. Unfortunately she didn't realise at the time. I'll never go back and advise you all check your bills carefully.

Loved Lilac Cottage the moment we walked through the door. The food was just gorgeous, with good portions, well presented, and timed to perfection. The service was fantastic, along with the very pretty interior design that made you feel so relaxed. I can definitely see that this will be a regular haunt for us and so pleased we found this little gem.

Very disappointed with the service we waited over an hour after ordering our food before it appeared after we asked if there was a problem then felt that the quality was not as good as it could of been .Then when they cleared the table they only cleared 3 of the 4 plates and never came back or asked us if we required anything else so got the bill and left.
