Another great pub in Pooley Bridge. Packed on Saturday afternoon. We sat in the beer garden while the kids played on the slide. Great pint of Jennings bitter and a fine scampi with chunky chips. Spoiled for choice in these parts!

Sun Inn – PenrithMy family and I stayed up the road at the Waterside campsite and went to the Pooley Bridge Inn for food and beers. We were not disappointed and really enjoy their 'funday' that had on Saturday. Would return and recommend.
Pooley Bridge Inn – PenrithWe ate in The Crown Inn last Sunday evening (26 July) and enjoyed a fab meal.
Crown Inn – PenrithWe visited the NT tea room at Aira Force on 23 July 2015 and were impressed with the cleanliness of the cafe, quality of food on offer and the lovely, helpful staff serving it. My teenage niece is a vegan and was thrilled to be able to enjoy the chocolate and coconut flapjack. So often there is little available for her when we eat out. There were tables outside as well but it was a bit too chilly that day.
Aira Force Tea Rooms – PenrithMy family like visiting the Lakes for walking holidays and Pooley Bridge is one of our favourite places to visit as its so beautiful and we love the ferry round Ullswater. I've visited Granny Dowbekins multiple times and there hasn't been a single time that I've been disappointed in the quality of service, food or location. The staff are all lovely and made me feel very welcome, the food is delicious (best gingerbread this side of London), and the location next to the river is very calming and especially pretty on a sunny day. If you happen to be passing through or nearby Pooley Bridge I recommend that you stop by and pick up a cake/sandwich and a doggy bag if you have a dog.
Granny Dowbekins – PenrithWent there last night. Truly amazing! Very busy but well worth a visit. The staff are very good and the food was brilliant. Will be back this week.
Dodds Restaurant – AmblesideHi, Have a lovely tea break at your cafe, and fell in love with your teapots......is it possible you could let me know where I could buy one of these. Many thanks
Lakeside Cafe at Theatre by the Lake – KeswickMy wife and i had a meal at Curry Spice on 4th July. Very impressed with the food, had a selection of starters between us, main courses and side dishes, exceptional quality. The girl who served us was very polite and helpful. All in all a lovely experience. Would definitely recommend.
Curry Spice – MillomFab fab fab what a burger xx
The Thin White Duke – CarlisleHindley High went to Grasmere and I went into Miller Howe Café. I think its is a really nice café and I wouldn't mind coming again, you made me feel welcome and your café is well presented and clean. I think your food and you drinks taste great and yummy.
Miller Howe Cafe – GrasmereAvoid! They don't seem to know what they are selling or that they have an obligation to describe things correctly. They offer various 'juices' which should be described as 'drinks' as they are laced with sugar and other additives. Also they kept cleaning surfaces near food with a very smelly and probably toxic cleaning agent! NOT for anyone with any care for health! Also for such a competitive and high quality area, this cafe is somewhat out of place. Firstly, I'm not sure the decor knows what it wants to be nor is it necessarily fitting for the area. I'm not sure what was running through management's head when they selected a massive black and white print of Tyra Banks wearing what looked like a squirty cream bra!? The food was not bad, the service was friendly enough but there were several issues that could be addressed. My teaspoon was dirty and I had to exchange it and the floor under the tables was rather dirty with discarded food. Considering we entered at a quiet time, I wondered why the staff were not able to do a quick sweep to raise the standards.
Miller Howe Cafe – GrasmereWe frequent the Lion quite often as locals and always find the food and hospitality really good. My partner arranged a suprise party for me food brilliant, try their breakfasts from 10th mmmm.

Little Chef – PenrithI like the outside of Pedros and seeing the big hats. The staff look friendly and I fancy having a go at working there for a while.
