Pheasant Inn – KeswickThe whole experience of the evening meal was outstanding. The food was of the highest quality with so many tastes to enjoy. Well worth the cost. The staff serving were efficient and so friendly. The whole meal was made even more enjoyable because of a very relaxed atmosphere of the castle environment. After the meal we sat by the lovely log fire with our coffees and soaked up the whole ambiance of the castle.
The Music Room Restaurant at Augill Castle – Kirkby StephenFood was amazing! Lovely friendly atmosphere - one of the best places to eat in Grasmere! All staff were really accommodating and attentive. We will definitely be coming back!
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereGood evening at Lewis Bistro at Grasmere. Good menu and varied Food was well presented Staff were helpful Nice change from hotel Maybe service too quick although prefer this to the opposite, the courses came out in quick succession! Would definitely recommend
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereLoved it.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereHad a wonderful meal in this atmospheric pub which was full on a Thursday evening; always a good sign. Great menu. The Tempura Prawns and Chicken Pie were fabulous. The staff are exceptional and so friendly. We’ll stocked bar with good wines by the glass. Excellent selection of Rum! Food was also extremely good value. Would definitely recommend and revisit when the opportunity arises.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFriendly welcome and pleasant atmosphere. Service was quick and efficient. Food was lovely. Will be returning.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereI was a little surprised that it appears impossible to book over the telephone as a recorded message requests you to book on-line. This was easy enough but means you cannot discuss anything you might wish to prior to booking. We found the welcome and service very friendly and efficient. Our meals were well cooked with good ingredients and generous portions. We thought they were a little expensive but in line with other eateries in Grasmere. Our only disappointment is that the restaurant is an unbroken rectangular shape with no private or intimate dining spaces and in fact the tables are tightly packed in together and we felt uncomfortable close to other diners.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe returned to the Wheatsheaf after twenty five years to find it had been tastefully updated and were thrilled that it had lost none of its ambience in the process. The room was fine, clean tidy, comfy bed, meals were excellent from an interesting selection, breakfast superb and staff courteous and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We shall defintely return again.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeExcellent meal and service.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe had a lovely meal at Lewis’s Bistro. The French Onion soup was delicious and one of the best I’ve tasted . We had the Cumbrian pork , which was excellent but spoiled with the amount of mashed potato. It was far too much . We also noticed that quite a few diners left some of their meal. I’m sure this was only due to the portions being far too big. The staff here are excellent . Really friendly, courteous and professional. Would definitely return when we are next in the Lake District.
Lewis’s Bistro – GrasmereWe have been here a few times when visiting Keswick. Lovely pub, lovely grub. Wife had the Lamb Henry and I had the steak pie. Both delicious. Pudding was lovely too with lashings of custard. Bonus for us is we can take the dog. Would definitely recommend and we will be back again next time we're in Keswick.
Pheasant Inn – KeswickWe had an evening meal here on Friday 27th May. There were 3 of us including my Dad who has mobility issues. We told the Hotel about this in advance and they put us on a nice table just to the left of the entrance door which had plenty of space around it. . The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had the veggie option, my wife had the salmon and my dad had the pork ribs. All very well presented and nice and hot. All the food was delicious. The pub was lively and had a good atmosphere, there were some customers with dogs but this not interfere with anything as they were all well behaved. Overall we had a very enjoyable evening.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWe had a lovely meal as always and great that as a couple of us had coeliac disease we were well catered for, always friendly staff.
