Finkles – KendalStayed there once 5 years ago......Faulty Towers had nothing on it.....disgusting bedrooms...no attention given to it in years...hope it's had a major refit and refurbish....and a massive clean up....
Seacote Hotel – St BeesI do not usually do reviews, but had to make an exception. Staying at Lakeside for three nights with my wife and had the misfortune to only find The Anglers on our second night. Ambience, service, menu, presentation and food all excellent. We will definitely be going back tomorrow evening. A must place to eat if you are in the area...shame its so far from London.
Anglers Arms – Ulverstonhad a week here at the wonderful lake district, and visited the wilson arms twice. excellent service and five star food. staff was really helpful, friendly cannot think of a bad word to say about this wonderful resturant/ b and b, would strongly recommend, also good value for money : ))
The Wilsons Arms – ConistonThis beautiful gem, WOW!!! The food is exceptional and presented beautifully. The Chef's passion is obvious in the menu which has something for everyone!! They serve locally sourced produce cooked to perfection. As we arrived the welcome we received was so warm and genuine. At the time of our visit the Chef has'nt got a Michelin rating but I have no doubt he will in time be recognised for his love and passion for good quality food cooked to perfection and presented beautifully!!
Cottage in the Wood – KeswickReally comfortable. Great food, wonderful hospitality
The Bewick Coffee House & Bistro – PenrithReally comfortable. Great food, wonderful hospitality
The Bewick Coffee House & Bistro – PenrithExcellent Thai Restaurant just opposite Zefirellis Cinema. We have eaten at their other place in Bowness and the food here is just as good. The decorations in the restaurant are amazing and really add to the meal. Great cocktails and wonderful low Thai style tables at the back with Thai triangle cushions. Knocks the socks of the other Thai, definitely the best choice for Thai in Ambleside.
Jintana Thai Restaurant – Amblesideexcellent food, excellent staff, highly recommended.*****
Lighthouse – WindermereHad lunch at Bowness kitchen yesterday a combination of sandwiches, toasties and chips was all lovely and beautifully presented. so we called for breakfast this morning before home my other half had "The Bigger Grill (as they do) my Son had "Bacon and Eggs" which is served on hot toast and i had "The Posh One" smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toasted ciabatta. again was all very nice and excellant value. Enjoy!!
Bowness Kitchen – WindermereMy daughter and I visited your restaurant today, 14.6.2012. I ordered the beefburger, my daughter ordered the Feta cheese salad and garlic breads. My burger was overcooked with my first mouthful consisting of gristle, the bacon was tough and overall the meal was warm in temperature. My daughters salad had in it half a tomato and the garlic ciabatta had no garlic. Overall the meal was very disappointing.
Wellington Bistro @ The Beacon – WhitehavenBeen here a good few times and always excellent services and food, the southern fried chicken is the best i have tasted and the chips are also pretty awesome. good job oilys!
Oily’s – Workingtonthe food was delicious and came very quick :) also the place is very nice and its a good place to go with it being right in the middle of the shops.
Lighthouse – Windermerewhat a delightful place to stay with our doggie (puppy Bella). We just loved the room, food, ale, staff. Everyone made our special stay in this hotel for our 25th Wedding Ann 23.5.12, big party held on 26.5.12 in Poole Dorset. I was able to climb Blea Tarn just stunning place to be!!! Thank you everyone xoox We will be back!!! Andy & Maggie, & Bella
Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel – AmblesideHad another lovely meal at the pheasant once again all was excellent lots to choose from we just keep going back again and again it so nice.
The Pheasant Inn – Grange-over-Sands19 May 2012 - Family birthday celebration at Oilys. The staff were very friendly and made my family and 2 young grandchldren very welcome. Service was excellent. As a trained chef I thought the food was well presented and cooked to a very high standard. The new menu was very tempting with a wide choice. I would certainly recommend the goats cheese and potato salad and the beef wellington. We all had 3 courses! Well done keep up the excellent food and atmosphere. We'll be back soon!!
Oily’s – WorkingtonAwful! Greasy starters, stodgy rice, sloppy noodles, frozen veg! Avoid at all cost. Never had such an awful thai meal! Staff were lovely though.
Star Of Siam – KeswickMonday 23rd April 2012 My husband and I went to Oily's for the first time in a while, but it certainly wont be the last. The staff are fantastic, warm and very friendly. there was a good choice with the vegetarian options; I had the brie and mushroom wellington with cranberry and red wine sauce...mmmmm...my mouth's watering writing this. The chef Jason Roper could not have been more helpful. What a great team. See you all soon, Susan & Andrew Hargreaves
