Food great, staff really helpful. Just lovely. Was very quiet but I guess that’s due to the looming lockdown.

The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessHaving had a lovely lunch here a few weeks ago we decided to have our evening meal here yesterday. Spotlessly clean restaurant. The waitress was lovely and the service was excellent. We had garlic mushrooms and chilli prawns to start followed by lasagne and sea bass for our mains - our food was really nice. We highly recommend Charnleys. We look forward to returning after lockdown.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessHad a fabulous lunch with a friend. From our arrival until we left the staff were amazing so helpful and friendly. The service was quick, staff checking we were happy with everything. The meal was extremely tasty and of course we finished off with delicious dessert. Thank you Charnleys we will be back.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessThis was our first visit since the Bakehouse had been refurbished. I was blown away by the atmosphere that they have created, it felt like Saturday night in a restaurant in a Manchester or Liverpool, not a Saturday lunchtime in Dalton! The staff were exceptionally polite and very regimental in making sure that the COVID rules and regulations were being adhered to. The food......Well what can I say, absolutely amazing!!!! The pizza's put the pizza expresses of this world to shame. Overall its a 10/10 for me!
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessMe and my sister went here on Friday, we had been here once before for food and enjoyed it so decided to try it again. Although, we were very disappointed with our food and service this time round. When we came in we were quickly greeted by polite staff who took our order for food and drinks. The table we were sat at was tucked in the corner, which we didn’t mind but this made it very difficult to get the staffs attention throughout the meal. The drinks arrived fairly quickly, but unfortunately we had a 50 minute wait and we tried to get the staffs attention to ask but they didn’t seem to acknowledge our table. Once the food came my sister was disappointed again. She ordered the carbonara which had a gorgeous sauce which was sadly ruined by undercooked crunchy onions which she had to pick out. To finish the meal we had to wait yet again for anyone to come over about the bill or desert (which we didn’t end up having). In the end my sister had to break the Covid rules about leaving the table and went up to the desk to pay. The lady didn’t ask or give us opportunity to describe the poor details of our experience.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWent for lunch yesterday, it was beautiful. Not only was the food gorgeous, the atmosphere was lovely and relaxing, just what I needed on my day off.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWe went yesterday for lunch and I can’t fault it. Food was amazing and the waitress particularly was so lovely and friendly (didn’t catch her name but she was an older lady with short blonde cropped hair). Would definitely recommend!
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessTwo of us for a late lunch - easy entrance with a quick temp check and straight to table - Waited several minutes for order to be taken. Menu mostly pizza /pasta with a couple of meat /fish/ salads. Order given but a little confusion over gluten free meals(?) drinks order given with food order. Food arrived quite quickly (the place was very quiet though) Finished meal and waited to give desert order - no one came near for 35 minutes(?) Went to counter (despite signs saying ''stay at table'') ordered dessert. The food here is good if a little pricey for what you get. Service really needs looking at and more training for staff (they are very pleasant though) just not efficient. Restaurant is nice enough, although Spartan due to the C19 precautions. Wine at £14 a bottle not a bad price compared to other places (but it used to be £9 before C19 ?)
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessBrother asked for bread and butter - never came and no one asked if things were ok. Put our meals down and had to wait fir cutlery but our food was good. All nice and fresh. Staff really nice. Had our temperature taken on arrival and felt covid safe. Nice place to eat. Comfy seats.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessFood always lovely, freshly cooked. Don’t mind waiting for food as always hit and fresh. Service good, waiting staff work hard & always pleasant, polite and helpful. Lovely decor. Pleasure to visit.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessVery nice lunch with good service and pleasant staff.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWhat me and my daughter in law ordered was fine, but the children’s meals e g sausage and chips was I thought poorly presented and the ham sandwich the same , the crisps that went with the sandwich must be the cheapest there is they were like cardboard. Also the length of time we waited was ridiculous we had finished our tea and coffee , also the children’s drinks because they wanted orange and lemonade we were charged extra which I think is wrong , the price of the drinks with the children’s meals should of been deducted off the price of the drinks that were ordered . Also we ordered extra chips and a good job we did . Also the staff never asked if the kids wanted salt, vinegar or tomato ketchup . Not sure if the kids will want to come again.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWe very much enjoyed our afternoon tea, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. We haven't eaten out since last Christmas so it was great that the staff were very organised and are doing all they can to make it an enjoyable experience. We will definitely visit the bakehouse again.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWould have like a few more choices on the menu but overall, a lovely experience with lovely waiting on staff who made the experience very enjoyable. The kids pizzas were fab!
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessLovely lunch yesterday, good service, love the new menu and the new decor , will definitely be back.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessWent with husband and 2 granddaughters for lunch. Excellent portions (by that I mean large, really no need for the extra chips we ordered). Beautiful decor. While I agree the service is a little slow the staff were run off their feet, restaurant was very busy, we waited a reasonable amount of time for our food but at least it is freshly prepared and not microwaved. Looking forward to returning, and hopefully go for an evening meal. Staff are very polite, attentive and very hardworking, the owner should be very proud.
The Bakehouse – Barrow-in-FurnessFood was good but the service was terrible, we sat waiting over 20 mins for someone to take our order and when we approached a member of staff she was very apologetic and took our order only for someone to return and say that the pasta dish was no longer on offer so 2 of us had to choose again, there were a number of dishes crossed out on the menu already even fish and chips which was disappointing, our scampi dish came with salad dressing and coleslaw when we specifically asked for it to be omitted not a great experience, we all had coleslaw and the menu doesn't really point out it comes with everything. We were offered cakes to make up for the poor service and the staff member who came to speak to us was lovely. The restaurant was busy and it is appreciated that waiting times will be longer on such occasions but there appeared to be little or no organisation.
