Postilion Restaurant – WindermereDined here saturday night the place was packed and the reason for this was the excellent food.we had a fantastic meal and the staff were friendly and attentive. five stars from me
Villa Positano – WindermereJust to say thank you so much for all your hard work at my 21st menu + our engagement. All the staff looked after us so well and it was a fantastic night thanks to your help + hard work. We will be back very soon!
Ship Inn At Roose – Barrow-in-FurnessI would like to say a big thank you to all the staff for making my husbands 70th Birthday a wonderful evening. The meal was excellent as always & the service, patience & cheerfulness from you all was a credit to the the Ship Inn. Thank you once again
Ship Inn At Roose – Barrow-in-FurnessLovely experience in a lovely pub, publicans ourselves
Ship Inn At Roose – Barrow-in-FurnessWe stopped in Kendal for one night and ate at the New Moon. Their early evening menu has a very good choice of dishes and is excellent value for money. We will definitely go back when we next go to the lakes.
La Luna – KendalMy friend celebrated his birthday last week at this restaurant and foods were yummy and very tasty. Price was also reasonable. Very friendly staff. Definitely will go back there again.
Jintana Thai – WindermereWe have eaten several times en route to Yorkshire where we visit relatives. Never been disappointed - Soup wonderful and great value for money - Beware of salads - enormous!!! Served by pleasant staff - a must if you are travelling over the A66 - only minutes off the motorway.
Bojangles – ApplebyWonderful food at this artisan cafe restaurant. We had a chicken Tagine and a rosti with freshly squeezed orange juice. The venue has real charm and the service was good. A must for lunch if in Ambleside.
Lucy’s On A Plate – AmblesideWe have visited the "Ratty Arms"for the last 5 years when visiting this area. The food has always been first class, plentiful and reasonably priced. The drinks are reasonable and there is plenty of choice even on the childrens menu.Definitely one not to miss whilst in the Lake District. The pub also has a pleasant atmosphere and the locals are a good bunch.
Ratty Arms – HolmrookFantastic stripped down raw pub the ODG. This place has real character. It used to be a cattle shed and still retains those features. Its full of hikers and rock climbers so the food is hearty as well as being tasty. Great selection of beers too. Its very popular due to this and its awesome location in the Langdale valley. It is also a hotel and has a more refined restaurant if thats more your thing. A must if in Langdale and better than its newer namesake.
Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel – AmblesideWe have dined here for the last 6 years. The food is excellent, reasonably priced and superb service ensures the food is still red hot when it gets to you.Judging by the outside of the property you would not believe what an excellent meal you can have.Just go in ,dine and you will find out what we mean.
Golden Hills – KeswickI really enjoyed my meal at the black swan, I would recommend anyone to go!
Black Swan Inn – PenrithI particularly enjoyed that fact that I was aware of the use of local produce in each dish served to us. The fact that it is homemade also speaks for itself the fresh taste in the dishes jumped out at me - something that is very rare in the eateries in the area, usually you are left with frozen chips & a pathetic slither of meat that people have the cheek to call a steak, but I must say it is the best steak I have eaten - fantastic, thick juicy sirloin. There was even a list of farms on the blackboard so you knew where the beef came from. Personally I think they have the food just right here, a great mixture to suit most tastes. Service was very good & efficient but perhaps the some of the staff could be a little more friendly! The lady in charge of front of house could not of been more helpful, the perfect host.
Black Swan Inn – PenrithGreat food but no atmosphere and the staff were miserable. Probably wouldn't go back, which is a shame as great food
Oily’s – WorkingtonI recently went to Oily's to celebrate my birthday with a small group of friends. I am a lover of their food myself, as I go there at least once a month. Although only one of my friends had only been once, they vowed they would eat there again as they loved the food and the service was excellent. I can also say Oily's is a family friendly restaurant with a menu that is very good value for money.
Oily’s – WorkingtonDon't waste your money! Rude, impolite waitress ruined our meal and our last night. We didn't even have chance to read the menu before it was snatched off us. The food was slammed down on the table and was nothing more than average, the restaurant was too hot with too many people crammed in. We didn't leave a tip, we couldn't get out of there fast enough! We won't be returning or recommending to friends! Could this be because we dress differently? Talk about narrow minded!!!
Casa Bella – KeswickSix of us went for dinner last week. All of us ordered different meals. All were fabulous. The food was presented well and tasted great. The staff was friendly, patient and efficient. There was one area of concern - when we got the bill we thought it should have been more!! Highly recommended
