The Dog Inn – BlackburnLovely atmosphere , friendly staff , service good and food tasty
Tiger Lounge – RawtenstallVisited The Ginger Bistro about 4/5 times now with various people, sometimes for lunch, dinner or just dropped in for a catch-up-coffee. Each time I have been the service has been good and the food lovely last nigh was no different.
The Ginger Bistro – PrestonWe visited here on Saturday night and got a table early at 5.30pm so it was pretty quiet only 2 other tables in. The setting was nice and nice decor, however the tables are very small so you can't fit a side plate on your table which I find annoying as I feel as it things are going to get knocked off the table easily, also paper napkins! The menu prices looked standard for a good restaurant and we ordered some bread on arrival which I have to say the choices of bread were lovely especially the nutty one, however it came with 2 bottles of the cheapest olive oil, so I asked for some balsamic, I poured a tiny bit on my plate and it was disgusting like it was off it was a very cheap Lidl one so I notified the waitress. Starters were lovely hubby had pate and I had fishcake although neither looked home made it was nice. I ordered chicken for my main which was a special with cheese and tomato and a sweet potato rosti, the chicken was cooked lovely although very sparse tomato the thinnest slice of a cheep salad tomato i've ever seen! For £17 I would expect to actually be able to taste the ingredients. The rosti was horrendous though extreme saltiness in faft so bad that my tongue started burning and has just stopped 3 days later! The rosti tasted nothing like sweet potato because of all the over spice and salt and it was burnt round the edge and the rest soggy as the chicken had been presented on top. I did tell the waitress that I wasn't happy but not sure it was passed on. I think the chefs do spend a lot of time on the food presentation, however it is no good being presented nicely when the flavour and texture, quality of the food is lacking. I will say the waiting staff were lovely and polite, but I didn't see a manager anywhere they didn't come round and see if guests were OK like I would normally expect. So for that reason I wont be returning.
The Ginger Bistro – PrestonAt last, a Sunday lunch which is all you dream it is going to be. Roast beef and roast lamb cooked to perfection, with excellent vegetables, followed by delicious puddings. This is definitely going to be our eating place of choice, particularly as a visit to The Red Pump, so charmingly furnished and decorated, is combined with a drive through our favourite beautiful Lancashire countryside, And I haven't even mentioned the warm welcome from all the friendly and efficient staff. I cannot recommend The Red Pump enough.
The Red Pump Inn – ClitheroeExcellent food in a relaxed atmosphere. The service was enthusaistic to the point where we were offered 3 menus at the same time! Far better than none! That is being really picky as the staff were generally young and inexperienced, however they were super friendly, Professionally turned out and nothing was too much trouble. Would we recommend a visit....no.....we recommend several visits to try all the menu as our choices were delicious, you will not be disappointed!
The Ginger Bistro – PrestonGreat Hidden Gem, Chef was great took great care of us and the food divine, I have told all my friends how impressed I was especially with how fresh the food was and a big added bonus of food being prepared on site and fresh. Decor was lovely, my favorite spot was the balcony at the back!! Susan
The Dog Inn – BlackburnNice food, amazing view, reasonable prices. What is not to like? Excellent vegetarian choice. Look forward to next time.
The Dog Inn – BlackburnVisited the Dog Inn twice in the past few weeks. The service is amazing, the atmosphere and views were fantastic. The chefs catered for my Gluten free needs and the fish that was sourced from Fleetwood was superb. I love the fact that the food is fresh and locally sourced. As it was my Wedding Anniversary I received a complimentary dessert which was unexpected but well received. Would definitely recommend a visit.
