Smiths Arms – PrestonI recently attended my brother's wedding and the venue was superb, from the excellent Thwaites on tap, friendly and efficient service to the delicious wild mushroom soup and magical views over the valley I could not fault this place. I thought it was excellent that even though the back room was enjoying the wedding celebrations, the front bar was still cosy and full of happy patrons mingling with the odd wedding guest looking for a quiet moment to enjoy a fine single malt by the open fire. The rooms were also excellent, spotlessly clean and with great attention to detail. Breakfast was well worth dragging our weary hungover bodies to, and I gazed out over the misty green hills while stuffing my face with an extra portion of black pudding. The perfect remedy. Excellent place, great service and a good selection of cigars!!
Shireburn Arms Hotel – ClitheroeWe visited Raffles this afternoon in Preston 24/11/13 we ordered our food which came to the neck end of £28 for 3 sandwiches and 2 drinks slightly expensive I think but that is not my complaint with this place, my girlfriend had a Tuna and mayo wrap which came in 2 halves , she couldn't finish both halves so decided to take the other half home with her, we asked the waitress if we could she said no problem and promptly returned with paper bag to put an open fairly sloppy wrap in I then asked if this could be wrapped in tin foil and then put in a paper bag the wrap was taken away sent down to the kitchen to be dealt with however it returned unwrapped and back in a paper bag I mentioned to the ladie on the counter about the tin foil to which she replied they didn't keep it on the premises I took the Wrap out of the bag which then fell apart mostly over me at that point I knew I wasting my time I then told them to throw it away i had just gone past trying to get this thing hygienically wrapped up. I know it sounds trivial but principal had taken over by now I left the place seething and put a complaint in to the service area in st George's I don't hold my hopes up for a reply but you never know it's nearly Christmas !!!
Raffles Coffee House – PrestonWe love La Vespa, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the restaurant atmosphere is very relaxed and the food is excellent. We love going and we feel like old friends when we come back, we would definitely recommend it!!!!
La Vespa – ClitheroeSolid business which is about doing basic food well. High quality, friendly service, excellent cleanliness, good value and they really care about doing a good job. What more do you want from a chippy?
Ocean Chippy – BlackburnHi I'm Portuguese and loved this restaurant, the best choice you are. 6 stars.
Casa Tapas – RawtenstallJust finished a beautiful homemade lasagne sat in front of a roaring fire. Food was excellent and service very good also, highly recommended!!
Edisford Bridge Hotel – ClitheroeThe best Sunday lunch in Lancaster.I have tried most places and this lovely pub restaurant stands out.Hearty localy produce freshly made, fantastic Yorkshire puddings and lovely home made gravey.Staff are friendly and helpful good selection of wine and beer.Very homely atmosphere and great value.A must if you enjoy and good Sunday lunch.
Wagon and Horses – LancasterVisited recently for Sunday lunch. The interior was pleasant, if perhaps a little restrained/sterile and appeared to be very clean. Staff were attentive but not overbearing, perhaps a little more aloof than one has become accustomed to in most Thai restaurants but they were also busy setting up.The food was good, certainly above average and was well presented. There were plenty of choices, including some that I had not come across before. All were keenly priced. It was very quiet for what is usually a busy period for most restaurants. We were the only diners initially and saw just two other couples subsequently. Hopefully word will spread, as there aren't many Thai restaurants over this side of Lancashire and I think that this one has the potential to become a good one. It's in a nice location and there's plenty of free parking available. I would definitely recommend others to give it a try.
Thai Paragon – LongridgeGoing again to Border Rose for Xmas dinner , fantastic, went last year and we live in Skegness, family live in Halifax , but well worth the mileage ,recommend to anyone.

La Vespa – ClitheroeNever had a bad meal like this one, half cooked food, I asked for it to be replaced which they did for a part burn one and still frozen in the middle, call the girl over who was bl@*dy rude, NEVER going back..
The Sitting Goose – PrestonIf you want good food this is not the place. Over priced takes ages to arrive 45mins for starter 50 mins for main course .Starter was fine prawn cocktail main course pasta was terrible ,there is plenty of better restaurants in the area give this one a miss.
Francos – LongridgeHad lunch at this restaurant saturday just gone. It was faultless! Fantastic atmosphere topped off by the live pianist. Food was excellent as always. I just wish we didn't have to drive to this restaurant, I could have stayed all afternoon with a good bottle of red! Highly recommended.
Italian Orchard – PrestonWent on Saturday 19/10/13 with our friends. Ordered the set meal for £21.95.Booked for 6.30pm.Glad we booked it for then as it was very busy by 8 pm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely fab, could not fault it one bit. They always asked when you wanted to be served the next course of the set meal, there was no rush they kept saying. The only thing i would say was the guitar player, not got the x factor,he looked like Andy Capp from the newspaper cartoon.
