me and my husband were introduced to the buck inn by a friend years ago. we live over 7 miles away but every time we want a meal out it is always to the buck we go and to make the journey quicker we have even bought a caravan on twyn ghyll which is only 200 yrd's away so we can visit more often .The food is second to none the gammon and eggs is the best i've ever tasted and the staff always make you feel at home. lt's a place you feel at ease to go in on your own. which l have done and they go out of there way to look after you. It has a great character with old fashion values and prices to match

The Buck Country Pub – Clitheroe

Guide village is one of th best Cantonese restaurants around, with this restaurant on your doorstep who needs to go to China town. Small and friendly and the best quality. If you are strapped for cash then the Sunday buffet at £10 adults and £5 for kids for a fab buffet style meal. How fab. Everyone should go!! See you there.xx

Guide Village Restaurant – Blackburn

My wife and I had an evening meal at this restaurant last night. The welcome was very friendly. The food was excellent home cooked food and was well presented from a reasonable menu. The best part was the price, which was only £7.50 for 3 courses - excellent value for money. Well worth a visit!

Copper Kettle – Kirkby Lonsdale

This was some of the worst food I have ever had! I ordered a mixed chicken and donner kebab and it was so greasy the pitta bread was literally dripping with oil! I had eaten a few pieces of chicken before I realised this which made me sick all night. If you value your health and don't want to end up in A&E with severe food poisoning DON'T eat here.

Godfather Pizza House – Darwen

I have been to countless numbers of Italian restaurants in Britain but very few compare to La Locanda. A couple of the London ones maybe. This is true authentic Italian cooking at its best. Don’t go and expect to see things like garlic bread, pizza, chicken carbonara, duck in orange sauce on the menu because you wont get them. Instead what you get is a unique Italian experience. The menu consists of a nice variety of interesting dishes. Not too many to get you confused or indecisive. Just the right amount. This is an Italian restaurant in its purist form. It’s not an English Italian restaurant, it’s an Italian restaurant in England. There’s a big difference. To add a little gloss to the whole experience I asked the owner if they ever put rabbit with polenta on the menu. She replied, “every thing is possible, just give us a week at it will be done”. Now you don’t get that level of service from your local italiano restaurant.

Fab place, fab food!!!

The Black Horse – Chorley
Disapointed

Food is fantastic - service is terrible - been with friends and if you are in a big group then it's great they love you - BUT been twice now, just the two of us: waited an hour for food; main course was another 30mins later. Went again in case this was a one off - same thing 20mins to be given a drink and a menu. Asked for jasmine tea at endand they forgot. Sorry it's off my list now!

Eat at New Season for the first time on thursday night. Odered Paella that was to die for best I have ever had. Good choice of wine and cocktails although follwoing a heavy night on wednesday did not sample this time. Service was first class especially Peter who appeared to be the restaurant manager constantly checking all our needs were met and the singer is fantastic. Not the cheapest place round but well worth it Would definitely return

my wife and i went to the italian orchard for the first time last night and it will definitely not be the last. the service was second to none and the ambience and feel for the restaurant was relaxing and pleasant, but it was the food that made the night so special from the starters to the desserts it could not have been any finely cooked and presented anywhere we have been in the past and the most surprising part of the night was the bill for what we ate and the service we got we expected the bill to be so much higher we will definitely be recommending it to our friends

Italian Orchard – Preston

Albion Street Chippy – Nelson

By far the best food venue in St. Helens. Unfortunately not a difficult title to take. In my drab little tasteless home town there lies a beacon of hope for the food lover, and I don't mean the fat guy the loves the all you can eat chinese buffet. Since Geoff Nugent came to St. Helens college from Wrightingtons Best Western Country Club the standard of the teaching kitchens have shot right up. The food being produced in Colours restaurant is far superior to anyone elses efforts in the area. Why can't we retain these young chefs to bring joy to the culinary educated of St. Helens, which I feel are in a minority. As soon as we have taught them their skills they are shipped straight off the bright lights of London, and who can blame them. Keep that spark burning Colours because all great chefs eventually make their way home when they have achieved everything they can in the Michelin star world and want to set out in their own name. You give me hope for a brighter dinning future.

Colours Restaurant – St Helens

I discovered Truffles purely by accident several years ago & although it is some thirty miles from my home it has become my favourite restaurant since that first visit. Truffles is a restaurant where I am able to take my family & friends with confidence that my guests will enjoy a meal of very high standard, in an ambiance that is only found in a few restaurants today & where the service provided is truly excellent. Dining or lunching at Truffles is an eating experience not to be missed & I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant whether it is for a meal from the standard menu or for a meal from any of the almost monthly gourmet menus covering cuisine from countries in Europe & Aisia.

Ate here Sunday night, the restaurant was really busy and had a really good atmosphere, I am almost sure that no other restaurant in the area would have been anywhere near as busy on Sunday evening!! The food and service were great…give this place a try and I am sure you wont be disappointed!

Really liked the vibe of this place. We popped in after mountain biking nearby. We were a bit concerned because we were covered in mud but they were very accommodating. We sat outside in the pleasant beer garden and had 2 Chili Con Carnes. Lovely food well presented. We will definitely return at night mudless and possibly stay over in one of their rooms too.

Corporation Arms – Preston

Booked in on a Wednesday, very busy. Excellent service by young staff. Food was of a high standard and much enjoyed by my wife and I. A bit pricey for a "lets go out for tea" but the quality, presentation and atmosphere 10/10.

Clog and Billycock – Blackburn

Went to New Seasons restaurant with very good friends on Saturday 25th July for a Birthday celebration. The staff were friendly and attentive, couldn't have asked for better service, even though we turned up early. We thoroughly enjoyed our starters of a few tapas. Three of our party had the Surf and Turf from the specials and by the mmmmmmmmmm noises they were enjoying their choices. I however drew the short straw, I also had a choice off the specials but my salmon was overcooked and the quenilles of mash were luke warm. A big disappointment for me. Don't think I will be quick to return.
