I love the place. It is very quiet, even on a weekend, so the service is very good and they can take their time to get the food right. If you want an atmosphere with a buzz then go elsewhere but if you want excellent food with good service and a quiet night out then this is ideal.

Good chinese food, but nothing special

I was invited to the grand opening of the (NEW) mitton hall. Well what can I say a its a truly remarkable place to be in. Every one was so helpful and extremely kind we spoke to numerous people that night. we spoke to a young gentleman that had been there over 12 months and had seen the hotel through its changes I think he was one of the Managers. He was so enthusiastic a bout the whole venue. Congratulations on the new venture.

An institution in the region - one of the first Indian restaurants in the area, and consistently one of the best.

I have eaten here several times and I love the atmosphere of the place. Service is quite relaxed and maybe a little slow but it is by no means bad. The menu is a little limited but the food is fairly good.

The surroundings are very nice and inviting. However the restaurant is let down by a limited menu and extremely slow service. Although the food was good we waited just over one and a half hours to get our mains.

The restaurant was a lot larger than i expected and same can be said of the menu. The friendly staff were on hand to help and the service was outstanding. Although the staff were extremely busy, they still managed to make us feel welcome. I would recommend booking, as the place is popular and always seems to be full. I will be returning soon to try something new.

This place is a fantastic place all around including service and atmosphere. The food is very enjoyable( i recommend the King Prawn butterfly starter- DELICIOUS!).The staff are very pleasant and friendly (especially the fat jolly one).

i love going to mamma mia's it is one of my fave restaurants. the food is yummy, the decor is nice, and also the people are amazing. I love there 2 big fluffy dogs that live upstairs they are the cutest things ever. Going to mamma mias is a good idea. Mamma mia is runned my 2 of the most wonderful people, i recommended mamma mias to anyone that wants a good night out!!!

I am having a family meal there soon for a celebration - booked because an evening that my partner and I spent there. The food was very good, nice and fresh, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. This is a friendly restaurant with a family feel and I highly recommend it.

I have stayed and eaten at copy nook many times over the past four years and will continue to do so. everything about this hotel is as near perfect as you will get.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Astley Bank a few years ago and have been regular visitors ever since. The food is always exceptionally good with a good variety to cater for all tastes and the staff are very attentive. I particularly like their hors d'œuvres, bread and hand made chocolates made on the premises. On a winter's evening you can relax in the lounge with your coffee after a beautiful meal and warm yourself by the fire and in the summer, you can look out onto or take a stroll in the beautiful gardens. I love it here and will continue to put it top of my list of favourite places to go for the rest of my life I should imagine.

I have dined here on many occasions at both lunch time and in the evening and thoroughly enjoy every aspect of it. The staff are obliging and helpful, the food always of good quality in a very pleasant dining area.

The thing that makes this restaurant is the charismatic owner. He is not only the genial host but oversees the kitchen too. He is passionate about Sicilian food and drink. It was very interesting to see his collection of herbs collected from the mountain by his summer house in Sicily. His wine cellar was a labour of love too! I had a gorgeous dish of aubergine, ham, and mozzarella with an unusual sicilan pasta. I guess the proof of the quality of Etna is the fact that its the oldest restaurant in Lancaster opening its doors in 1975 and still with the same man at the helm!! A must when in town.

The wife and i went for a meal here last night and to be honest it was awful, the starters were king prawns in garlic for the wife and i had mushrooms in garlic, the mushrooms looked like iceland fry ups and came just with mayonnaise and the prawns were just grilled, we complained and they took no notice, when the main course came i asked about the starters and the manageress came across all stroppy and said she would write it off the bill, the main course was equally as bad my meal was steak and mushrooms with chips ans salad, the wife had chili con carne with garlic bread,the steak and mushrooms came in what ide describe as a pate pot and resembled thick gravy and the chillie came with no bread, so i spoke to the manager again and at this point he sent three of his staff to clear our table and we were asked to pay for the drinks and leave, ive never been so embarrasses in my life, avoid this place.
