Food quality and flavour are top tier and on point. Even bigger plus is that they are dog friendly. Will definitely be coming back! I recommend booking in advance though as they get fully booked.

Tocketts Mill Country Park and Restaurant – GuisboroughWe were staying on site so booked here for our first night. Staff were efficient and friendly. Appetisers were both nice but a bit on the small side. Mains were very good. It’s a lovely venue however it was spoilt somewhat for us as while it’s situated on a dog friendly holiday home site, the restaurant only allows dogs and their owners to be seated outside on the terrace. The forecast was for rain so we sat under one of the two umbrellas but this would be an issue in cooler months or if it is raining as space under the umbrellas is limited. The place has a quaint from bar that could easily be used to allow dog owners as non dog owning customers have the large indoor restaurant and large conservatory area. For this reason we wouldn’t eat here again as it’s a strange dog policy.

The ever-changing menu ensures a variety of small dishes: 3-4 each makes for a great sharing feast with something for everyone. Particular stand-outs last night were the jerk chicken with rice n peas and the mushroom stroganoff with pappardelle pasta. The sauce was superb! A lovely and reasonably priced bottle of primitivo from Puglia completed the experience. Thanks: we will, of course, be back!
