Visited for sunday roast was beautiful 10/10 would recommend

My daughter and I very much enjoyed lunch at Mistal at the weekend. It was a beautiful day and it was very busy. However, we were looked after very well, seated quickly (we had booked) and were served with very tasty food by friendly staff in rustic surroundings. It was our first visit but we shall certainly return.

The 5 of us went to the Craven Arms twice in our week up in the Yorkshire Dales. Both times we found the staff to be friendly, helpful and polite. A good range of foods to choose from, including on the gluten free menu. On our first visit we had soup, chicken wings and olives starters - all good sizes and very tasty. Mains we had fish pie, gammon and steak - again these were good portions with lovely sides. We enjoyed it so much we booked there and then for Sunday roast. The roast was exceptional. Gluten free beef with yorkshire pudding and gravy was excellant. Lamb, pork and beef also great. The yorkshires were huge and tasted fab. Lots of meat, roast pots and three veg. Puddings of mandarin and lime posset and sticky toffee pudding were wonderful. A++

Had a lovely evening at 19 with friends . It was an amazing food experience from a very talented chef . The staff were lovely and the restaurant has a pleasant ambiance. Keep up the good work team 19 as we are lucky to have this restaurant in Saltburn.

Had the 3 course market menu. Was absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere.

Went on 3 November for a friend’s birthday. There was 4 of us. The food, wine and service was impeccable. Well done to all the staff who are very friendly

Every time we’ve been it’s been a great experience. The scores would have been around 4.5 for food and value for money. Service always excellent. Will definitely be back. Thursdays date night is always excellent value and worth a try.

My husband and I called in on the off chance, luckily we managed to get a table after 10 minutes of waiting. Initially we only stopped to sample one of the cocktails but stayed to have a few cocktails and food. Food is outstanding and gives any other local eateries a run for their money. We really enjoyed our chorizo and Mushroom starters followed by the lamb tagine and salmon with chorizo stew, a couple of little tweaks on the mains then the food would of hit the 5 mark. The owners Jay and Luke are super friendly too, they make you feel so welcomed. Fantastic work guys, keep it up. PS, Thank you for making us your Totem version of the Zombie cocktail, it was AMAZING, see you again soon xx

Really great food in a lovely setting

We booked for a meal for 3 people before the fireworks on Sat 4th Nov at The Empress based on some local recommendations. There was no message or email to say the food menu would not be available on this day. We turned up for our booking (all parties between us having driven 90miles) to discover the only food available was an outside BBQ in the rain which only consisted of burgers, hot dog or chips!! We were also squished onto a table for 2 and had to grab another chair so we could all sit down. We were really looking forward to enjoying a nice pub meal before the fireworks and this was not what we expected. We should have been contacted to let us know the menu was not available so we could have chosen elsewhere. We didn’t have the option at 5pm on the day to go anywhere else. It’s safe to say we were pretty disappointed!!

Arrived slightly early for our booking. Staff were very accommodating and seated us immediately, taking our drink orders. Staff explained the menu and advised on different options. We ordered starters and mains - all food was delicious, fresh and very reasonably priced. Overall spend was around £60 on two courses, plus sides, and two rounds of drinks for two. We will definitely be back.

Our waitress could not have been more delightful. She was very helpful and took our orders quickly as we were starving. The food was great and we all had the tempura prawns to start with. Excellent as usual
