Lovely hotel and our room was nice and clean. Dinner however was not a good experience. Although it wasn't very busy (maybe 12 other couples), we waited well over an hour for our food to arrive and although it did taste lovely when it finally arrived, it did spoil the meal. We were given a complimentary drink as an apology. Breakfast buffet wasn't enjoyable at all. The orange " squash" was pretty much tasteless. My wife was dissapointed that there was no museli, and some cooked items left a lot to be desired. The bacon was just ok but the sausages had the taste and texture of having been heated up from the day before, definately not freshly cooked. And as previously mentioned, the table setting lacked a 2nd knife for butter and marmalade etc. All hotel staff were polite, friendly and informative.

DINNER - Starters good. Mains a bit pricy. Little taste to swordfish and risotto. Wine good. Service by George exemplary. Plasterwork in dining room magnificent. BREAKFAST - Poor selection of cereals. You had to make your own muesli but no nuts. Bacon nice and lean. Hash browns and black pudding heavy with little taste. Albumen of fried eggs was hard - probably because of long time in bain-marie. No knife to spread butter and marmalade on your toast. Had to use my cooked breakfast knife. Not good value. ROOM - asked for a quiet room with garden view but marquee for beer festival was outside for 3 nights. OK with window closed but had to get up in middle of night to open as room was too warm. Slamming bedroom doors! Why can't guests close their doors quietly especially early morning and late at night? Needs a note in the guest information sheet as a reminder. Hotel gave us compensation as a result of our comments.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon for our wedding anniversary, it was the 1st time we had been-it wont be the last. It was a little quiet but the food and the hospitality was 1st class. After going to Greece in the summer for a holiday we decided on The Aegean as a choice for an authentic Greek meal, we weren’t disappointed, the food was amazing and the desserts awesome. We will be returning, probably later into the evening when hopefully it will be more atmospheric. Overall cannot fault it. YAMAS!

Excellent food, good size portions and dog friendly! We called in after a weekend away and it was just what we needed to finish our weekend the right way! Friendly staff and a good atmosphere!

We have been here a few times and decided to take friends for their first time. As always Aegean did not disappoint. The food was excellent, the staff helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back and apparently so will our friends l. Love this place

Went to Brooks based upon the reviews I had read. I wanted a cosy, friendly atmophere with good food, for my girlfriend and I to celebrate our birthdays. We were not disappointed. Warm, friendly, efficient, relaxing and welcoming. The food was both different and excellent, whilst also being reasonably priced. (As was the wine selection). The only disappointments were the cocktails but that was a small blemish on an otherwise excellent evening. We would definitely go back again.

Absolutely great vibe for the tapas night! PLEASE more themed nights like these- best pizzas in Teesside by a country mile, in fact I'd put them up against pretty much any pizza in the country- and now they're perfecting other cuisines too!

Went here on Saturday night for our freinds birthday every thing was lovely we had a good waiter service and we enjoyed the extra pineapple we got this was a bit of a joke with us and the waiter but must say the food was lovely will be going back again

Booked the tapas night, spoke to Luke on arrival and the waitress and himself could not do anymore to endure out first visit was enjoyable, food was great, the tunes perfect , thanks guys I’ve already become your advocate

George hosted us very attentively and honestly and he was understanding. The barman took a while to deliver the Prosecco by giving it to the nearest couple first, who arrived after us. Of the two starters, the crab and prawn cocktail was disappointing. Small amount of prawns and no crab in sight. Apparently chef calls it a presentation thing. Bits of crab will be in the avocado, I am told. Call it crab flavoured avocado then! The steak mains were excellent. Nicely cooked to our preference and the sauce was lovely. Barman had up-sold drinks without consent. George was helpful and solved the issue accordingly.

Absolutely gorgeous was very busy however the staff were amazing had bottomless brunch really enjoyed it
