Lunch yesterday (Friday). Absolutely fabulous. We had a wonderful lunch, four of us. I had the fish platter (freshest fish I've tasted in the UK in years) my wife had the halloumi satay and the mother in law had the Caesar salad. Brother in law had the duck salad. All dishes were beautiful. Thank you Danielle and Patrick it was fabulous, we will be back someday.

Asked for a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon blanc. To be told we don’t do that…. just house red or white . Tasted it and it was like vinegar . The menu on the website shows monkfish hence why we booked. Upon arrival the menu was completely different with limited choices . This used to be a busy restaurant . 8pm Friday night only 2 tables eating ?? The best thing about the place is the saxophonist

We cannot recommend it too highly .Quality of food never varies from excellent ,service is always of a high standard ,atmosphere is perfect and in keeping with historic York ,and we rate it as value for money .

We were very early and did qualify for the early bird special but we had decided to try totally different food outside our comfort zone. BTW - the early bird is very good value, Great service , lovely food and reasonably priced. We will return.
Thai Sabai – HeadingleyWonderful meal. This was the first time I had eaten at a Sri Lankan restaurant and the food was fantastic. We shared a Brooks platter as an appetiser and both had 2 tapas dishes each with a side of rice and found this to be just about right when both rather hungry. Very friendly and courteous staff who helped with our choice of dishes too, would highly recommend if tired of the same quinine’s and looking to try something fresh
