Our first time and we chose the Meze as recommended on the menu for those who can't decide or have little knowledge of Greek food. We were surprised at the portion sizes, we were expecting 'tasters' of several dishes but the portions were big. 9 starters, 3 fish, 4 meats plus bread, rice, salad, chips etc. All in all way too much, needless to say 'doggy bag', but great value for money. There was no draught beer but the bottled Greek beer was OK. Scored 4/5 for the atmosphere as it was a Monday evening and not a lot going on. All the meals seemed reasonably priced and the Calypso coffee to round off the evening was one of the best.

I was very disappointed with my latest visit to the Magpie Restaurant. As a family we have visited the Magpie on a number of occasions over the last 30 years and on my latest visit there was no atmosphere and I felt very cold throughout my meal. I will not be visiting the Magpie again as there are now more choices and better value Restaurants in the area.

4 of us had different types of fish, chips n mushy peas with bread n butter - fab! Great service n quick too.

On a visit to Whitby this week, I booked a meal at the Magpie, having enjoyed it last year. No disappointments! The staff were clearly very busy but attentive; the food was delicious as always, and we managed to share one pudding between two. I will come again!

The food was absolutely incredible and beautifully presented all at a very reasonable price for the amount of sushi we ate!! Recommended to everyone in the area!

Yet again the Magpie Cafe has produced the most wonderful meal for my wife and I !! We are here last night and it was a no brainer to come back again tonight It is the core of our holidays to Whitby - amazing food off a fantastic menu and just the most engaging staff !! Simply the best ! xx

Excellent service and Great Food

Visited on 10/07/2021 Had an Excellent Meal Quality Produce Great Value Drinks, and It was an Excellent Value Meal,OnThe Whole Great Service From Very Sociable Informative Staff,But Felt a Little Rushed When Our Main Courses Were Placed on Our Table When We Still Needed 5-10 Minutes Longer to Finish Our Starters We have visited previous location Many Times and were impressed by the New Restaurant which we will definately visit again soon Thoroughly Recommended If You Can't Go to Greece Go to Agean Restaurant.

A wonderful place, we come here everytime we come to whitby without fail. Beautiful fresh fish, you cannot beat the quality. Both the restaurant and chippy are fantastic.

Good food a little over priced no better than any other 30% more expensive and waited a long time just to order

My party of 6 adults went to the Magpie Restaurant last Friday 9th July. The service was 5* plus, and the food was delicious and also 5* plus. I strongly recommend the Baked Camembert, and the Cod & Chips! I recommend you going here for a meal when you are visiting Whitby. I have a holiday home here, and my husband and I will definitely be going back very soon.

Amazing service, food spectacular as usual. Cannot fault the place. Husbands birthday treat. This is where he wanted to go for his birthday...given we live in Leicestershire a long trip but shows how highly we rate the Magpie.
