Had an excellant meal was a birthday celebration for 3 members of our party all enjoyed it. I have been before but not for Sunday lunch will definately be going again.

We enjoyed our dinner here. Went there 20 of us which is a challenge to server but we had genuinely good time here. Good food, excellent price, great service, everyone was satisfied. I can recommend this place to anyone. There was just one thing that didn't go super well with the service we had two guests with similar name Paul L. and Paul L. waitresses struggled to understand the situation and it was a bit awkward but nothing too terrible really.

We went for Sunday lunch . Good choice on menu. Food was delicious and the puddings were amazing. Staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning.

Had a Sunday carvery for two. Main course was excellent except for the broccoli which was rock hard. Waited ages for dessert to be served - profiteroles and a flame-topped creme brulee. Creme brulee was lucky if it had seen a flame as it was like cold custard under the flimsy crust. Entrance to restaurant is far too cramped for the amount of customers trying to get in or out of, plus the counter is there too. Young lady at the counter needs some customer service training.

4 of us (family) visited yesterday for Sunday Lunch (19/10/25). Haven't been for quite a while but was still pleased at the quality and choice of the carvery. Well done Empress - "I'll be Back".

Great atmosphere, friendly helpful staff. Very good food, tasty and generous portions. Good range of local real ales and a lovely roaring fire. Marvellous!

What a treat! We visited on a Sunday morning. We're big cat people and have visited a lot of cat cafés... But this one is by far our favourite! Such a wonderful, enthusiastic introduction from Charlotte, who explained how everything worked and gave us tips on which cats liked which toys, certain cats likes/dislikes ect. We were given fresh chicken treats to give to the cats which were very happily received. We had drinks which were good value and great quality too. Such a wonderful bunch of cats with a wide variety of characters, that you can tell are so well looked after and cared for. We'll definitely be visiting again. Thank you! :)

Worst place I’ve been £150 for shit food and shit service. From the moment we were seated to the moment we left nothing but rude! Meatballs both came out flat cold and still frozen in the middle. Then went to pay and the girl behind the till was disgusting! Had a disgusting attitude very rude. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Been to much nicer sambucca restaurants.

We’ve eaten at Food for Cowboys in various locations before so we knew we were in for a tasty time. In the restaurant the ambience was perfect and it’s just where you want to spend an evening, our favourite location yet. The lovely staff were really knowledgable about the menu when we asked for recommendations. The courgette tacos were recommended and what a great suggestion they were. Don’t overlook them among the incredible meat dishes on the menu. We tried some things we’d never had before and can’t wait until we can go back to work our way through the rest of the dishes!

From start to finish, we had a wonderful night with two close relatives. It has been many many years since we have been here, ( back in the chicken in a basket days) and were pleasantly surprised by how good our meal was. From when we first arrived , our welcome was warm and friendly and we immediately felt at home. The meal options were excellent, to the extent that making a choice was rather difficult. We eventually managed however, and all of us agreed our selections had been well chosen. Service was attentive, speedy and friendly. We asked for a peek at the desert menu, not expecting to have anything after our superb main courses, but two of us could not resist the old school dinner type options when we discovered that custard was available, despite not being mentioned on the menu. What a treat ! Not many places offer sweets with custard these days, so that option alone is worthy of many more visits in the future. All in all, we had a lovely evening and would certainly recommend the place to any discerning customers. Many thanks to our hosts. We will be back, although hopefully we will have an easier journey back to Darlington next time. (The A66 closure after 8 pm meant a rather circuitous route home)

An excellent first diner at our new local. Good quality and excellent food. Cooked perfectly and full of flavours. Lovely staff and a great local atmosphere.

Another great meal at Brooks, this time we took some friends who had never been before and they thoroughly enjoyed the food and their evening . Service is always really good and food perfect, keep up the good work .
