we live in the area and have only been once, it was excellent, were going again tom evening, so fingers crossed it will be as good the second time.

We had a lovely time. Friendly atmosphere. Lamb dishes were excellent!

My Dad and I stopped for bite to eat at this restaurant on our way from London to the Lakes. I'm a vegan, and we only found out about the restaurant through the Happy Cow website. We stumbled upon a diamond. The food was faultlessly magnificent, the menu presented an extensive range of vegan options, and because at the time we were the only guests we had the undivided attention of the waiter, who was the daughter of the chef (who we met later on). Whilst it was extremely fortunate for us to have the hosts all to ourselves, there can be no question that they deserved far more custom. At the end of the meal I asked the waiter tentatively if she would give me the recipe for the delicious main course I'd eaten - I was actually joking; I didn't expect for a moment she would give it to me, but to my surprise and delight she hand wrote the ingredients and the entire method and then gave it to me. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. If you live in Wetherby (or even Leeds) or if you're just passing by on the A1, stop by and indulge yourself in some of the most sumptuous Indian food you'll ever get the chance to taste.

have had many a curries at balti house , have to say it is one of the best curry places we have visited, excellent food, excellent staff especially Zak, he makes you so so welcome , just had new years eve there 2010, was still lovely , if you haven't been we would highly recommend a visit , been going for years and years ,

Food was lovely and so was the atmosphere, did feel a bit forgotten to the back end of the meal. possibly because we were sat upstairs at the very end near the mirror and there was a big party on the middle table. I do always like soft lighting when eating out on an evening but on the area to the far end 1st floor where our table was it could do with a bit more lighting but no too much!! Is there anyway outside could be fully glazed and heated. i would have loved to eat in this area if it was more permanent even in the winter? Overall opinion is this is the best restaurant in Beverley by far and we will be eating at Lucia''s many more times to come as well as recommending others.

A top class restaurant, food outstanding and not cheap, but if you want spoiling try it!!

Something a little odd about the reviews here. The Living Room clearly not by any stretch the 'best restaurant in York' - it would say so itself (the possible best is J Baker's BTW). It should be a cheap(ish) corporate place. Food is mainly adequate but can be poor eg over cooked veg seems a speciality. Drinks should be treated with care - any place that uses open 'old' Champagne in cocktails must be viewed with suspicion.

I've been twice to this restaurant and it is fast becoming a favourite. The food is excellent and the service prompt and polite. They also run a cooking school from their Manchester restaurant which my husband will be trying out soon. Highly recommended.

Wonderful atmosphere, cosy and warm with roaring open fires. Real ale, real food - can't be beaten!

Been twice recently and can thoroughly recommend the £10 for 3 courses menu. Some items on the menu do have a supplement but even so its excellent value and no scrimping on value. The only complaint would be that due to the low ceilings and lack of soft furnishings it can get a bit noisy. Even still I can't wait to go back.

The Duke's food is second to none. Service is impeccable and the atmosphere is welcoming & comfortable. Well worth a visit from out of the area for the food alone and worth a visit to have a beer and some banter with James, Maria, Dan, Hazel and the friendly locals. Top draw in every sense of the word. One visit wasn't enough, I've been several times and I'll be back. (like Arnie). Recommended: chilli melt, steaks from local butchers and especially the Xmas menu. Also, don't miss out on Maria's jacket chips. Enjoy.

My family and I had Xmas lunch here this year. 25/12/10. We were really looking forward to it but the whole experience was terrible. Staff were rude and kept us waiting in the car park before allowing us to go in. There was a mix up with the starters, some of us were served and others not. The food was only average. What this venue needs to take on board is that Xmas lunch is an experience and this was sadly lacking. Shall not be returning

I travel to Leeds monthly for work and thought I'd take the opportunity to visit Prashad for lunch whilst I was there after seeing them take second place in Gordon Ramsay's Best Restaurant. I was particularly excited as I'm a vegetarian and although a curry lover, am bored of what Brighton (my hometown) has to offer. I was not disappointed as I have never eaten Indian food like it. My partner is a carnivore but he was as intrigued as me. The food is totally different from any other I have tasted before - exciting, interesting and seriously tasty, and I left feeling comfortably full rather than bloated. The service was excellent - the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. It was well worth the trip!

I am a vegetarian with a lot of food allergies so dining out can sometimes be tricky. At Mango, it couldn't have been easier. Everything is marked on the menu clearly and the owner was only too happy to accommodate all my special requests. Add to that the fact that the food was absolutely divine and you know you have struck gold. Everything tasted fresh and we knew it had been cooked to order. I just can't wait for all the bad weather to clear so I can make the drive across from Leeds more easily and more frequently. I will certainly be going back...again...and again...and again!

I have visited Valentino's on a number of occasions with my Partner and family. I have found the food to be fresh, cooked,presented, and prepared to a very high standard, I have never had a bad meal at Valentinos.There has always been a huge choice of dishes available. I have found the staff to be friendly, welcoming and always eager to please. I would recommend Valentinos and advise people to book in advance as it can get very busy on Fridays and Saturdays.
