During a protracted hotel stay, I had ample opportunity to try most of the restaurants, bistros and pubs serving traditional bar food in Harrogate, however, the allurement of quality beer, good company and excellent food kept me returning to this popular bar/bistro. With a regularly changing selection of real ales, continental lagers/beers, all of which were well kept and correctly served by helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a bar snack menu which reflected traditional and modern classics Fancy something a little more formal? No problem. The upstairs bistro contains all of the traditional bar meals plus a wide variety of wholesome meals predominantly utilising locally sourced meat and veg. An ample wine list permits the correct accompaniment to any meal, and all of the ales can be ordered at the table. In short, as a place to enjoy the best of Yorkshire food and drink, this is a hard place to beat.

second time to this restaurant and this time in a large group as was on a hen do, once again fantastic service,food and drinks. the staff really are very accommodating. will go here again again.

we have been going a while now and its great we were there on Saturday 1st may with friends the owner is a great chef, you can sometimes hear if ranting but its great he does everything himself. Gordon Ramsey and the other chefs are not a patch on nick, he's friendly, and a great chef. he runs the restaurant with his wife she's wonderful and a true professional handles every situation well, ' see's that your happy and nothing is to much trouble for her.. the staff are very good also. we always recommend Theo's thank you nick and androulla..................

I would recommend the Millbank Arms in Well to everybody, the food is truly delightful and you always feel welcome whether it's a quick drink in passing by or staying to sample the delights from the kitchen! No matter what level of culinary skill you are accustomed to there is plenty on offer for all palates, go on try it for yourselves you won't be disappointed.

El bareto is simply a lovely little Spanish restaurant which remains unspoilt and traditional. The food and service is just what you would expect from a family run restaurant - welcoming and delicious!! The entertainment was very atmospheric and i would definitely recommend anyone who likes Spanish food to pay this little gem a visit - you will not be disappointed!!

Great food Great service Great value

Went to Leenas for a friends birthday party. The food was authentic, the tastes were amazing!! Decor was minimal - hate going to places where you are surrounded by objects that have no purpose in a restaurant and just gather dust!!! normal people go to a restaurant for the food and the food at Leenas was the best i have had in Huddersfield. The staff were polite and courteous - what more can i say will definitely go back!!

Absolutely the worst Indian meal I have ever had in my life. Service was fine, no problem with the lack of drinks license, but the food was appalling

What a friendly place, the food absolutely gorgeous and very reasonably priced. Nothing better than sat out on the decking in beautiful sunshine, tucking into a battered beef chilli sizzler (the house speciality. Would recommend booking on Saturdays though . Especially when sunny..

we ordered Pizza for the kids. we ordered pizza with no chillies. and they had chillies on it. they also had BBQ SAUCE on the pizza base for the sauce instead of traditional tomato sauce/paste and then they had all the topping with chillies on:( it was absolutely disgusting. will not ever order from here.was a waste the kids didn't even eat it.

I agree with all the other reviews, there is only one place to go for a real home cooked bar meal, I have been going there since I was a teenager now I take my own teenagers there and the standard are consistent. It is almost an hours drive for us and worth every minute. I have never had Christmas dinner there but I am hoping to this year. I agree that it is a bit chilly I always make sure I have sleeves, you don't need a hat and scarf though.

We enjoyed and amazing night at the bon viveur, had some friends staying over and wanted them to have a fantastic evening lovely food, lovely wine and a great atmosphere. The Bon lived up to all of these. It never lets us down and feel that we should shout from the roof tops have fab it is. In fact im going to book for my birthday next month which if you ring and book the management can sort you taxi's out too which takes the total hassle out of your night. All round fantastic.

went with 5 friends on friday 23 april and had a fantastic time, everyone really enjoyed all the curries we ordered and everyone said they would love to go back. very busy so everyone else must think the same, great decor nice drinks, couldn't ask for anything better

The Stavelely Arms catered our daughter's wedding reception and I can't speak too highly of them. They put on a fabulous event and everything was perfect - the food, the service and overall care and attention taken by Sharon and Andy and their staff. Thank you to them for making this such a perfect day.
