The Cross Keys is a taste of the countryside brought to the city centre. Cosy nooks, original beams and exposed brickwork all add to the character of this well cared for pub. Their drinks selection is varied and interesting, Yorkshire ales and bottled beers from around the world. But their real secret weapon is their wonderful food. Fresh British ingredients, unusual dishes and excellent cooking make dining at The Cross Keys a really enjoyable experience. I couldn't be more impressed and will be making the short journey out of town a regular part of my week. Love it!

We visited the Prashad as a party of five on the eve of my wife's birthday. I have been to quite a lot of similar establishments in my life and I can honestly say the food here was some of the best of its type I have ever eaten. I realised we were going to be in for a treat when the pickle tray arrived, and the poppadoms were very cleverly done in the shape of flowers! But it was about much more than visual presentation. When I tasted the lime and chilli pickle, I realised that they had done something to the limes to pre-cook or soften them, so you don't get that chewy lump of lime in the chilli sauce like you do in some other places. The pickles were obviously individually made instead of being spooned out of catering tins, as well. This sort of attention to detail was also manifest in the rest of the food. For starter I had the sliced aubergine dish, fried in some kind of batter, and again I was actively surprised by the subtlety of the flavours. My main was a black eyed bean curry which I can say was truly excellent, over perfectly cooked pilau rice. We had originally booked there because my wife is vegan and had been searching on the net for likely establishments for her birthday meal. I myself am vegetarian, and the remainder of our party are normally carnivores, but nobody expressed any regret at not having meat, all of the dishes we ordered were received and devoured by us with enthusiasm. My wife had the lentil and zucchini dish, and others in our party had the Vegetable Handi, Chole, and the Hara Bara Burger. The restaurant itself is basic and unpretentious, quite small, with one mirrored wall, but then you don't need flocked wallpaper, rubber plants and pictures of Rajahs riding elephants when you can cook like that. If you are the sort of person who wants a really hot curry that will knock your socks off and bring you out in a sweat, you would probably still enjoy the Prashad, but truly, I recommend going there for the subtlety and the variety of the food. I daresay if you did want them to make you the sort of curry that takes the top of your head off, they could do that too. In fact many of their dishes and sauces are "slow burners" that creep up on you! Parking is on street outside, we managed to park just across the road. Access is via three relatively shallow steps, I managed with my bad knee to negotiate it both ways, with the assistance of my companions, though the staff were more than willing to help.

Another excellent meal at Giorgio's. Friendly staff and service just right - not too intrusive. Fast becoming a favourite.

talk of the town fish and chips are best in Yorkshire, haven't found anyone yet to beat them, please keep frying.

Very disappointed with the food. I am pregnant and a vegetarian so opted for the veggie option of cheese,leek and broccoli bake as it offered fresh seasonal veg. The broccoli, carrots and cauliflower was so hard that I couldn't bite through it and ended up eating just the bake. We also ordered a childrens meal and the chips tasted like they had been fried several times over! Will not be going back.

Back to its best! We went on the first Saturday night of the new opening, the new look is great, brilliant atmosphere and the food was fantastic, we will be regular visitors. Anyone not tried it yet, go soon its highly recommended

This is the best Thai restaurant in Yorkshire! I have tried a LOT of Thai places since moving here from Chicago, but this is by far the best. Always consistent, fresh and authentic. They really know how to do Pad Thai! Starters are particularly good as well.

NO RECOMENDATION, cold, no atmosphere, rude staff, food was ok, won't be returning, not a hope of becoming the new Bella Napoli. RUBBISH

What a pleasure to be able to go to the Pickburn Arms and enjoy a quality meal in very pleasant surroundings with excellent service provided by Sam and Mark and staff.They have only been in charge a few months but what a change they have made, the car park is nearly always full when it used to be nearly always empty and what a great menu, something for everybody and at very reasonable prices AND good handpulled beers, what more could you ask for ? The other plus factor is that it is only a couple of minutes drive from Brodsworth Hall which is well worth a visit, by the time you have walked round the hall and gardens at Brodsworth you will be ready for a meal at the Pickburn. Perfect ! !

I go here probably every other month it is beauuut!!! I recommend that you definitely try it if you haven't been you are definitely missing out. The food is delicious.

Had my husband's 50th Birthday celebration at Arkaans. The staff were excellent, good time had by all..........food was drowned a little by the beer, so will be back again shortly so to try the food, rather than the beer.

Abfab. Service, atmosphere & specially food top notch. How about a cheeseboard to finish off a memorable evening. Be warned...we'll be back.

This is a fantastic restaurant, the food is to die for and the staff are very friendly. Their takeaway service is brilliant. There is a very relaxed atmosphere and you are never rushed. I would recommend this restaurant highly.

I am a big fan of Indian restaurants and this was no exception. A wonderful authentic restaurant with amazing service. Exceptional value for a truly stunning meal.
