Taste of India – SheffieldVisited on a Saturday night. Arrived at 9:30 and seated at 11pm. Bar area very small a crowded for such a long wait. Food when it arrived was good but nothing special. Many other places available with comparable cost and quality. I'll be going to those next in the future.
Akbars – Leeds City Centrejust been to coopers again this weekend, the food is really excellent, this was our third visit and we cant fault it. The homemade Black sheep ale bread especially pleasing, as was the white chocolate and raspberry panna cotta. service in the brasserie was very attentive
Coopers Bar and Brasserie – GuiseleyWe used to have a branch of Hansa’s in Bradford some years ago, which we used to frequent. We went there today at lunch time for their buffet lunch. It was just like old times. The aubergine pakora was brilliant, as was the dal and puris. It is really good value and delicious food too.
Hansa’s Cookery School – Leeds City CentreHad a meal for my girl friends 40th, so we had a girlie night out, lovely pub, good service and lovely food, we had a lovely night thanks
Black Bull – WakefieldCelebrated a friend's 50th Birthday at this restaurant on Thursday 24 July for the first time since it refurbishment and thoroughly enjoyed the night. We were very impressed with the upgrade of the place especially the furniture & decoration. The staff were very pleasant but most importantly the carvery was excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The Oyster Catcher – HullOut on the edge of town in a peaceful setting. Almost 200 years old, at the junction of several footpaths. Loads of parking space and no through traffic. Tables out in front of the pub and a covered patio area at the back. Bar has lots of nooks and crannies with pool, darts and TV. Five well kept cask ales and the usual lagers etc. Restaurant does cabaret at most weekends and food is served from 12 noon to 9pm, every day. Sunday's is a carvery with a choice of 3 roast meats & fresh vegetables. This is a pub for all the family - a real jewel.
Haven Arms – HullMedici restaurant is a hidden gem!!! It belongs in London or at least in a big city where it would have people queuing down the street, seven days of the week!! It offers an extensive menu boasting everything from excellent Italian pizza to michelin star quality dishes. Whats so great about Medici is that you can take your kids for a discounted quick bite( before 7pm) or bring your boss/company director to impress whilst dining in a sophisticated yet warm and welcoming atmosphere. The local residents need to appreciate how lucky they are having such a restaurant on their doorstep. By far one of the best restaurants in Yorkshire. Take my advice and go. you wont be sorry!!!
Medici Restaurant – HullTook my daughter for a Sunday lunch and it was delicious and, for her, free (she's under 10). The roast lamb was succulent and the mashed potato was a revelation to my daughter. Not knowing the opening hours we arrived fairly late in the day but the staff were very friendly and did everything to accommodate us. The puddings were great too and the chef took time out of the kitchen to explain what a panacotta was, and it was lush. Its a hidden gem in a beautiful part of Leeds. We'll definitely go back.
Zachary’s At Fulneck – PudseyWe had a fabulous dinner at the Wensleydale Heifer on Saturday evening. I had the best Lobster Thermidor that I have ever eaten (the sauce was so delicious) and my husband said that his fish soup and fish curry were both outstanding. The desserts were to die for and I can thoroughly recommend the amaretto and chocolate ice cream sundae which was a drink in a glass. This was our first visit and will definitely not be our last. The Heifer compares more than favourably to the Crab and Lobster.
The Wensleydale Heifer – RichmondWhen full it's quicker to fly to Rome and get a pizza - walked out due to the long wait, after drinking a liter of water, a beer and eating a starter and my main still did not turn up. Staff seemed uninterested in my complaint. I would not go to this restaurant again - I used to go often and even went first week of opening - but service is so poor now.
Prego Pizzeria – WakefieldI hated the wretched place. It seemed to me to gorify meat eating, but a heart by-pass perhaps changes ones views. I dont know who runs the place now but it used to be a thoroughly objectionable american who was nasty to both customers and staff alike. I shall not return - and I recommend you to do the same
Cattlemens Association – HarrogateThe Golden Lion Hotel now has a traditional fish and chip restaurant serving fish and chips done in beef dripping, we had the Jumbo fish and chips very reasonably priced and quite delicious, they also do a nice variety of food if you don't want fish. We also went back on the Sunday to have their Carvery we had the choice of Honey Roast Ham, Turkey Crown, Roast Pork and Beef, we couldn't decide which to have and the carver let us have a slice of everything. It was one of the best carveries I have ever had. Well worth a visit if you r passing through.
Golden Lion Hotel – WakefieldMy vegan friends in Shipley took me to this lovely vegetarian café in Thornton. I had a cheese enchilada with a gorgeous salad to accompany it. The chocolate cake was simply delicious. I am not vegetarian but I shall certainly come here again.
South Square Vegetarian Cafe – BradfordI was visiting my friends in Shipley and they took me to this great vegetarian eating place in Thornton. All three of us had the vegetable crumble and it was simply yummy. The side salad was a work of mouth-watering art. I am very partial to coconut and as the desserts menu had pineapple and coconut cake listed on it, I naturally ordered it. And I am glad I did as it was delicious. I am not vegetarian and I have also run a café of my own previously, so when I say this is a brilliant little café, it’s because I do know the café business and know what I am talking about.
South Square Vegetarian Cafe – BradfordI recently had my wedding and reception at Mr Chu China Palace they catered for 100 during the day time and 300 at the night time at the function room below. My guests were from all corners of the uk including a well respected restauranter from the London City ..We are still being told it is "simply the Best" The firework display, dragon dance, service hospitality was second to none my southern friends fell in love with the place. Finally but not least the food was outstanding quality, right temperature and enormous amounts that my friends were convinced I must have paid in excess of £50 a head not so, it was very reasonable priced ..My wedding went down as the Wedding of the decade by all of my guest on the evening and night..Thank You Mr Chu you are a credit to Yorkshire and Hull..Geoff & Janet
Mr Chu China Palace – HullWe visited Medici on Wednesday 16th July 2008, the food and service was first class. Everything that was served to us was delicious, the tiramisu excellent. Medici is now on our list to visit regularly. Also we arrived during family time and was given a 30% discount.
Medici Restaurant – HullA fantastic evening out i love coming here, i try a different dish every time and i have never even being close to disappointed!! Lamb shanks is always a fav, but tonight i had the fishcakes, outstanding cant wait to have them again, service is great too, the best for miles around!!
