Quite simply, the best tasting food in Sheffield!
Wasabisabi – SheffieldR.E The slip in the once beautiful Beaumont Arms. The service leaves a lot to be desired, having ordered the house red wine at the bar it took ten minutes to reach our table and was chilled not at room temperature as red wine should be. The atmosphere wasn't as bubbly as it once was as much as the new landlord tried his hardest to liven the place up. After being constantly bugged by the gentlemen the food came and it had a lovely aroma, finally something was going right for our birthday gathering. I ordered the sirloin steak which was ordered rare and it came medium to well and i should know the difference as i am a chef. To the chefs defence there was trouble by the waitress understanding what i was asking for so the mix up could be directed in the direction of the service. I love steak but this one tasted like it had been cooked on a pan or a griddled used to cook many other types of food. Everybody at the table were happy with what the ordered but not excited as we used to be with other menus in the town centre. We still left a tip, thinking about it my tip should of been make sure everything is better in two Sundays away when we return.
Beaumont Arms, The – HuddersfieldThis Restaurant doesn't exist anymore, so we ended up going to Rubicon and it was excellent.
El Piano – YorkI am pleased to say that my second visit to Kendells was as pleasurable as the first. Dining in such a vibrant atmosphere, with good quality food and the most helpful, accommodating staff is such a delight. My companion and I ordered from the A la Carte menu, and in our opinion it was excellent value for money. I will definitely be visiting again and continue to promote this restaurant to my friends.
Kendells Bistro – Leeds City CentreI have to echo the previous comments. This is a little gem of a pub, out of the way high up in the Pennine hills. The food is superb, incredible value for money (check out the steak and kidney pudding). They obviously have a trained chef doing the cooking and the Sunday roast puts most pub offerings to shame because they use fresh vegetables (and no frozen Yorkshire puddings!). Really relaxed atmosphere and very friendly staff. Make a visit, the uphill slog your car has to make is worth!
Rose and Crown – HuddersfieldOne of the best Italian restaurants i have eaten at. The service was great, the food was incredible, with the presentation being up to the same standards. I would recommend to anyone.
Sambuca – DoncasterWe have been to Rustico several times now and I cant speak highly enough of the quality of food and service. Its the type of place you would return to time and time again and never be disappointed. I personally love the vast array of seafood on offer, but whatever you choose to eat, its delicious! A word of warning though, the complimentary bread and dips are delicious, and rather filling! You have to be a strong person to resist!!
Rustico – WakefieldWent down here a few weeks ago and was greatly disappointed with lack of service to those of us chose to sit outside. Took absolutely ages between courses and it was not particularly busy so that cannot have been the reason. Out of sight out of mind was best way to describe it !
The Hunsworth Brewers Fayre – CleckheatonWe recently visited Prashad as my sister is a vegan and I love my Indian food. As some other writers have said previously, don't let the surrounding area put you off!! The food is so much different from anything else I have tasted before that it was all we could talk about for the next few days. To be perfectly honest, I couldn't even tell you half of the things I ate but what I will say is that the taste was fresh and very more-ish. My daughter found some of the tastes a little too strange for her palette but I would simply say go and try this place and make up your own mind. The chef also came into the restaurant to say hello to everyone which I have not experienced for a long time. I'll certainly be going again!!
Prashad – BradfordFantastic!!! My hubby and I have been here a number of times, we normally have the Meze Platter, because we do not like olives the waiter always offers something else in its place, absolutely brilliant staff, very attentive and again like other people we do not feel rushed. We will be dining there again and again
Meze Restaurant – BrighouseI went to this restaurant with two friends and my sister after it was recommended to me. We had the Greek Feast for four people at £19.95 each and it was worth every penny. The selection of dishes was superb, they tasted delicious, the restaurant was warm and authentically decorated and the couple who own it were very friendly and welcoming. You can also take your own wine, which helps if you prefer a specific wine. This is a place i will visit time and again and never be bored or leave feeling hungry!! I was stuffed and felt like i would never eat again, highly recommended.

Kapadokya – YorkWould never go here again. We went at a Sunday lunchtime for my mums 60th birthday with three children aged 9, 7 and 2. The children were very well behaved, the food took absolutely ages to arrive and when it did my mum (who never complains about anything) said that her scampi did not taste quite right. We mentioned this to a member of staff who brought the manageress over. She very abruptly whipped the plate out from under my mums nose told us rudely that there was nothing wrong with the food. When my sister asked her if she could not be so abrupt, she accused us of wanting the food for free and told us that our children had been causing havoc, this was not true and we were extremely upset and embarrassed by her behaviour, we decided to leave straight away without even eating the food. We offered to pay for the drinks we had drunk but she refused and accused us of wanting the food for free. The woman was unbelievable and I would warn other customers never to go there, or if you do, don't dare to criticise the food
British Oak Inn – WakefieldI went with my wife on Saturday evening the food was simply amazing I will be back shortly.
Rileys at the Potting Shed – BarnsleyCheap and cheerful but in dodgy part of Leeds. Would recommend for those who like 'pile em high sell em cheap food'. Owner was over familiar
Raies – RoundhayThis was my first visit to this restaurant and it will be my last - I have had a better curry from Sainsbury's.
Sheesh Mahal – HeadingleyI absolutely love this place! It is my favourite restaurant for casual dinners or just a really good feed! The food is delicious and beautifully presented, and very authentic. I can't think of anywhere else in Leeds who have White Pizza's. Even my partner, who imports some of the finest foods in the world, has a little soft spot for this place. It isn't the most modern looking place or the largest, but it is comfortable and warm. It does look exactly like many little restaurants that you'd find in Italy, and reminds me of one i found in Milan once! The prices are extremely reasonable and portion size good. The staff are very funny, and have a habit of speaking in Italian to you if you look remotely dark haired! They really take care of you - they will not allow a lady to put a coat on themselves, they're quick and attentive but not overly so, and once i went with a friend who didn't order a starter but they still brought her a small bruschetta free of charge anyway! This place beats many over rated establishments in Leeds, in many ways.
Viva – Leeds City CentreThis is the first time we have been to the Hunsworth and at the moment it will be the last this was not an enjoyable meal for my father who is 90 my brother and my self. From entering the Hunsworth I was put off by the man who allocates the tables he was quite large i do not have a problem with his size it was his belly which was showing beneath his shirt, this is something which i do not want to see before i sit down for a meal. We had to wait quite a long time it was cold where we were sat, when the meal came i had pasta which was just ok my father and brother had the Sunday Roast this was cold and the beef was just in big grisly pieces there was not a slice of beef on there plates my brother did eat some of his meat but left all the vegetable's he said there was no taste to it at all it was the worst meal he had ever had, my father just had a roast potatoes and some Yorkshire pudding. He could not manage with the knife they changed that, we complained about the meat they offered to change the meat but my brother had started and he wanted to go really so we carried on with the meal we finished first but my father was struggling we had to ask for the plates to be removed I am not used to having dirty plate in front of me for 15 minutes when she came for the plates I mentioned my fathers meal again I showed her the meat she just said sorry and took the meal off the bill they seemed as though they weren't that bothered, we left very unhappy customers I know the meal was not major expensive at £25 but for something that you can't eat it is and the service was not too good either we have been better looked after at a small local cafe than we were at the Hunsworth.
