Can't recommend the Lord Strange highly enough. Good quality food at a very reasonable price not to mention the fabulous cocktails & attentive staff. Really looking forward to trying the Wednesday pie night.

I booked The cookhouse Mackets Lane on 7th December for a party of 22 people I had given our order for what we wanted to eat few days in advance.When we arrived our food was served on time The food was really nice The service was excellent The staff were friendly and helpful The manager Vicky was really nice and communication between the both of us prior to our booking was excellent .We had a lovely night and will definitely book again

Booked a table for 2 yesterday evening. Had a nice comfortable booth. Menu offers a really good choice but we opted for a banquet. Chicken and Sweetcorn soup was lovely perfectly seasoned and chicken was tasty. Crispy duck and pancakes- very tasty and perfect amount for two people. We ordered sweet and sour pork and chicken foo yung. Both were delicious. The rice was a generous portion, but again more than enough for two people. We finished off with an ice cream and coffee and banana fritters (£2 extra) and an Irish coffee which I was very impressed and perfect cream topping (not aerosol cream). All in all a very plentiful and delicious meal and polite and attentive staff. Thankyou.

Booked for the Christmas menu, service was great. Food very nice, pate to start only comment was not enough bread and chutney for the amount of pate. Steak was cooked to perfection and dessert was perfect.

Eight of us went for a Christmas meal. Everyone loved their food and I was especially impressed that my meal was readily made GF by the provision of GF crackers and bread. Love the decor. Will definitely be going back.

We had an Anniversary lunch at The Richmond this week and we would highly recommend the R Bar and Brassiere. The food was of a very high standard and the service was excellent. I would visit again and strongly recommend the place. Well done to all the staff.

Booked fir afternoon tea on a voucher from “Buy a Gift.com” which was a present from work colleagues on my retirement. Everything was excellent from booking to service and the quality of the food. There was a wide range of savoury and sweet options all fresh and beautifully presented. The service was welcoming professional and attentive. Would definitely visit again.

Visited on a Sunday and were presented with a menu with a choice of 2 courses or 3 course for a set price . A really good choice on offer and not overwhelming .All food is beautifully presented and very tasty . Decor is colourful and contemporary with an elegant feel . Although it was not fully booked there had been private party in during the afternoon who were leaving as we arrived . The bar area was busy and quite noisy at first and it was difficult to be heard . The pianist was very good . We will return soon .

Visited on pie night, our first time eating at the Lord Strange but have visited for drinks many times previously. Food was fabulous, pies very tasty, great service and value for money and would definitely come back to eat again

This was our second visit,firstly as a couple and secondly to take our parents for well deserved treat. We do like this place simply because it’s a totally different clientelle to everywhere else in St. Helens.We normally have to leave St. Helens to have a date night. From entering the dean you find yourself very relaxed and and nothing is rushed. And thankfully on both occasions Paul the jazz singer was providing the entertainment and is a joy to listen to whilst relaxing. Staff at the dean are a credit,and hope it continues. Yes it is expensive but for us it’s worth it when we have a date night ( every few weeks) Keep up the good work!
