This is a gorgeous setting, and the food is excellent. The service is sometimes a little slow, and having to pay a deposit to make a booking can be irritating, but the food is so good, it's worth the inconvenience.

Khrua Thai Orchid – HeswallThis was such a disappointing restaurant. Like the previous reviewer we were shuffled upstairs, first mistake! We made a reservation and afterwards realised downstairs was a much nicer atmosphere. We were surrounded by large parties. The Duck was burned and the food came out on cold plates with no warmers. The service was terrible and I was so embarrassed to have suggested it to my family. There is so much choice in Liverpool. Don't make the same mistake I made.
Mei Mei – Liverpool City Centrerecently ate and was sceptical about the change to one menu, the whole evening was fantastic. A young local student served us and was warm and friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable they should keep that young Man as long as they can. have recommended to several friends who have shared a similar experience of late and have been making the most of the pre-theatre menu on offer, think regulars like us deserve a discount though
The London Carriage Works – Liverpool City Centrehighly recommended staff are polite food is beautiful surprised my husband with an on the house knickerbocker glory for his birthday and sang to him lovely friendly atmosphere, well worth a trip.
China Garden – AintreeWent here last night with my partner to see what all the fuss was about re the "Wednesday Night Offer". At first sight 2 courses and a bottle of wine each for £12.95 seems great. To be honest, I was slightly disappointed. Most of the decent stuff on the main course menu carries a supplement of at least £2 so you are left with chicken, roast pork or pasta. However, I chose a sirloin steak which was ok but my partner chose the roast pork with crackling which ended up actually as a large piece of belly pork. It was at least 60% fat/rind, and what little meat there was, was undercooked. The crackling did not exist. To add to this our pan of vegetables was slightly undercooked - I like crisp vegetables, but these were verging on hard. Upon bringing this issue to the attention of the waitress, she simply shrugged (we later found out that she had in fact told the duty manager but he had not approached us before going off duty). Our 2nd course was acceptable (Apple Crumble & (powdered) Custard/ Cheese Board). It took three attempts to get the bill and we ended up putting on our coats to simply get attention. We put our complaints to the new duty manager who apologised and reduced the bill by £5. Another reason for going to Bistro Pierre was to sound it out for our works xmas meal. Maybe it was just a bad time for us, but I wont be returning or recommending the place.
Bistro Pierre – Liverpool City Centrewe go to the Bakers on average, once every 2 or 3 weeks. The food is always lovely, and with 2 growing boys, the portions are great. Well worth a visit!
Bakers Dozen – BootleWent to Osqa's tonight and had a fabulous evening. Food was delicious!!! I had kingfish and my partner had the fillet steak with pepper sauce. Restaurant is gorgeous, staff are lovely and attentive and most of all the bill didn't break the bank!!!(happy hubby) Will indeed be revisiting very soon.
OSQA – Liverpool City CentreMy partner and I went to the Mayur last Friday. The staff were friendly and polite and the decor very pleasant but we found the food to be very average. We did not have starters so cannot comment on those. We had one vegetarian (cottage cheese and spinach dumplings) and one king prawn main course ), both of which were quite bland. We had one dessert (gulab jamun) which was also disappointing, it just tasted like a piece of very ordinary sponge with very ordinary vanilla ice-cream. Even more off-putting however was the fact that the restaurant was very noisy which we thought must be due to the acoustics of the building as we were not sitting in the middle of lots of people (it is a big restaurant so naturally you expect a certain amount of noise but this seemed unusual). We had to practically shout our orders to the waiter and could not hear each other above the din. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
Mayur – Liverpool City CentreAlways nice to be greeted by such beautiful waitresses. Wonderful food, lovely atmosphere. Will, and have recommended this fantastic restaurant to many friends. A friendly place where you are not hurried and can relax and talk whilst enjoying delicious Thai food.
Khrua Thai Orchid – HeswallDecided to go to Kozi for the second time, took my folks my aunt and my 11yr old son, had a lovely Sunday lunch, our waiter Caesar was a hoot(thanks for my teacake)service was excellent, food was fantastic, we had a lovely time, going back on Sunday with the girls,£10 you cant beat that.
Kozi – PrescotWe have been visiting Villa Romano for many years now, For our Anniversary, before we go the theatre. or for lunch after a hard morning shopping. never been disappointed. whether a pizza or a fancy 3 course meal. I cant recommend it highly enough. Neil & Co keep up the good work.
Villa Romana – Liverpool City Centrewhat a wonderful evening we had, my friend recommended this restaurant, the service was excellent are young waiter was very helpful its been a long time since we had such a superb meal, will be booking again very soon, i recommend this restaurant to any one looking for that all around experience of what a restaurant should be keep up the good work
Pietra Bar and Restaurant – WaterlooEverybody seemed to be talking about this restaurant so we decided to visit. I must say we were bowled over. Everything was exceptional. The presentation of the food was amazing only surpassed by the taste. The service was also excellent. Smiling faces all around. This restaurant definitely has the full package. This must be the best place in the area. We will certainly be going back soon. Well done.
Alexandra & Victoria Hotel – Southportbeen to Damon's twice and was not impressed at all the food was really greasy and fatty and got served as soon as we ordered it .they were taking are starter away and giving us are mains the same time and the chips were warmed up in a deep fat fryer i think its horrible;.
Damons – Mossley HillLovely food, well presented and tasty, but thing that made it for me was the atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and professional. Looked after everyone with huge personalities. Loved every minute being there. Felt like I was on holiday not Rainhill. I recommend anyone going there for the experience of the food, service and ambience. Special hello to Cesar and Tamsin x
Kozi – PrescotProbably a touch more expensive than most of its Chinatown neighbours, but worth it. The food is excellent, fresh ingredients and no MSG glazed meats. Not only was the food great, but the staff were attentive and engaging. I've lived in Liverpool for nearly 10 years, and this place is undoubtedly the best of all the Chinese restaurants I've tried. Only Yuet Ben (Upper Duke Street)come close.
Jumbo City – Liverpool City Centrelovely, lovely ,lovely. We were made to feel welcome ,looked after very well ,the food was excellent ,cant wait to return. thank you il forno
Il Forno – Liverpool City CentreI'm not one to complain - and I understand eateries have off nights. However, Kimos last night (06-10-07) was extremely poor. We waited one hour for our starters and a further 45 minutes for our main course - with no explanation of the delay. Three out of the four main meals were delivered out together, leaving one of our party without food. After enquiring, ten minutes later the fourth meal arrived - a vegetarian meal that unfortunately once tasted turned out to have chicken in it - a veggies nightmare come true! We weren't the only party to have issues with the service last night - and I put it down to an off night by the staff and kitchen. We've eaten there on numerous occasions, but that will be the last time.
