My big sister and her husband back in the early eighty's told me of a place they went at 1 o'clock in the morning for great food. I thought wow a food place that is still open at that time of night!(I was 13) It wasn't till I was older my sis took me there, i thought i knew what a curry was (chippy effort!) until I had chicken Macanwalla!I'll never forget it. I still get to the royal but live near Light of Bengal little sister of the royal, whom I cant fault either. The lads that work in the two restaurants are well nice. Ray the Boss, you Rule.

If you?e looking for a hearty breakfast you will certainly get it here, the Traditional costs just £1.99 and there is a veggie option too. There are many items on the breakfast menu all well priced. There is an excellent choice of main meals, snacks and sweets which cost a little more. Depending on the time of day you go there will determine how quickly you are served. Breakfast time can be very busy and there never seems to be enough staff to cope.

My workmates and i visit The Manor regularly. We try to dine out once a month and have been to almost every eatery in The Wirral but we keep on coming back to The Manor. We?e had a couple of retirements and 60th birthdays there and every time we?e had a lovely meal. We always visit Sunday evenings and there is a set menu for a very reasonable £10.95 for two courses with sweets being approximately £3.50 each. Great selection of starters, mains and afters. Like everywhere else, it? the wine and soft drinks that bump up the bill. Menu changes regularly and if you are looking for somewhere for that special occasion it is definitely worth a try. You won? be disappointed!

So pleased to find a completely non-smoking cafe with such a good variety of food. They had background music playing but it was nice because it wasn? deafening like a lot of places I?e been to. Staff were efficient, food served quickly and place was spotless. Definitely worth a visit or two. Tell your friends!

The staff are very friendly and helpful, always a nice atmosphere in there. Good selection of hot and cold snacks, main meals, cakes and drinks. Nice clean place to eat, and Pam in there makes great chips!

My guests and I were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. All three courses of our meal were beautifully presented and were served by cheerful courteous staff. The delicious meal, excellent wine and lovely ambience ensured that a very enjoyable evening was had by all. See you again soon....

Popped in on the off chance of getting a table last Saturday, (derby day so town was very busy) and was accommodated immediately. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the food was superb. Would not hesitate to recommend the restaurant.

We read the reviews on here and we (2 adults, 1 child) were very impressed when we visited on Monday 27th March 2006 for the £9.95 Monday buffet, (half price for children). Decor, staff and most of all the food, were all excellent. The resident Magician / Balloon man visited us at the end of our meal for our choice of balloon shapes!! I would definitely phone first to book, as it did get busy. The only downside was the price of a glass of coke, which was £1.50, but it didn't spoil the evening we had in there. Treat yourselves.....

Exactly what i wanted, and expected. Very good standard of usual chinese food with a few interesting bits and pieces. Great value for money. Service slightly slow, but it was busy. Decor - as expected - clean, tidy, welcoming. As close as you can probably get to a London china-town restaurant without going to London. Would go back without hesitation, recommended.

Wonderful food, had a set menu and the quantities were very generous and cooked to perfection. The entertainment you get while you eat is wonderful and everyone? very friendly. Only one small complaint in that the drinks are quite expensive, especially the spirits.

Went to Maranto's for my brother in-laws 40th birthday party we were a party of 25. We were all sat at one table with balloons. They really made the effort with decorating the table. Fantastic service the food was served in large portions plenty of choice . Would recommend this to anyone.

The Chimneys always has a laid back welcoming atmosphere of a comfy country pub (even if it is just 2 mins from the M53!) which is great. Plenty of non-smoking areas too - which is a bonus. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food selection is great (although only one vegetarian dish). Our starters were great, our mains didn't live up to the first course sadly - a bit overcooked, which was disappointing given the strong start.

Entertaining yes. Good fun... in places. Value for money... perhaps. Depends what you fancy, the sushi was excellent, the circus cooked food didn't impress much at all. Great atmosphere, but ultimately seems more about the fun cooking than the food, and when you've used a wok yourself..... kids love it!

We went here January 2006 on a Sunday afternoon. It was quietish. It is a lovely restaurant, very clean. The food was very tasty and presented very good. The service was great. The restaurant was a bit cold but we were given gas heater so this was not a problem. We went for a birthday and was given free birthday cake which was delicious. They stopped the music and played happy birthday. It is a lovely restaurant and we are going back for mother's day and looking forward to it.

Schmooze WOW I? from Oxford and was told about this place from a friend. Liverpool don? know what they have. The Schmooze is one of a kind and it? a wine bar just like its says not like some of the other bars in that area. Keep up the great work and I will be back.

booked at last minute and they accommodated a large table of 11 for me. food was great (esp. recommend the seafood fajitas, or the snapper) and service good too. oh, and beers v.good too - rec the (very strong) bock!

Guaranteed excellent food and superb service - i have never been disappointed, or even less than very happy with a meal at Linos. The guys know how to run a restaurant, and they run it so so well. If you get a change their lunchtime menus are really well priced, and considering the quality, criminal to miss out on. Evening menu is compelling and the range of desserts and specials offered (from memory by Nigel and Ian) is disarming. As other reviews have said, it's rather easy to eat more than you should. Wine selection is excellent, with even the odd non-Italian wine sneaking in for an appearance. Can't recommend enough - but please don't book when i want to go! It's not huge... it is special. Dress up!
