Damons – Mossley HillOne of Southports better Indian Restaurants, but could now do with a "makeover" The food is usually very good, but the decor is looking a bit tired and the portions appear to be getting smaller or is it just familiarity breeding contempt? Service always friendly but slow if they are half full or beyond. I hasten to add that there is not a great deal wrong with Lalqila that a kick in the Managerial pants wouldn`t cure and it wouldn`t take a lot to make what has become a good Restaurant , a great Restaurant once more.
Taj Mahal – SouthportThis was a Restaurant that we expected to shine, the location is good, down by the Park and parking easy, the Restaurant inside has a pleasant air to it and unfortunately, when we went, they were quite busy. The service was extremely slow andgave the impression that they were doing you a favour serving you. When we did eventually get started I have to admit that the food was quite good, but with a long wait in between courses it made the evening drag on. At the end of the night there were no complaints about the food but the bill was a different matter. The drinks prices were -- well -- pricey to say the least. I`d like to try it when they are not so busy, but won`t rush back.
Ho Lee Chow – Southportwe were looked after very well and the music and candles addded to the atmosphere. we are looking forward to our next visit
Hinderton Arms – HeswallIts getting there! The quality of the food is very good indeed - but they run out very quickly. With the numbers they are now getting, there's no reason why they shouldn't have everything available on the short menu.
The Monro – Liverpool City Centre£8.95 for a five course meal with plenty of options for the main meal. the food is absolutely superb. staff are friendly, bit on the small side but makes the place feel more comfortable
Sing Ping – PrescotVery disappointed to find only a limited menu on the night we visited the Munro - unlike other reports. The menu is little different from a standard pub chain menu. However the cooking was competent and meals prepared promptly with attentive service.
The Monro – Liverpool City CentreI visited Est Est Est for the first time recently - I can't believe what I've been missing out on!! It is a informal, highly atmospheric restaurant with friendly staff and very nice food. Be prepared to wait for your table though I visited firstly on a Saturday and secondly on a Tuesday - each time I was qouted an hour wait for a table (though in reality it was only 35-40 minutes) On both occasions, it was packed to the rafters - so they must be doing something right!!
Gusto – Liverpool City Centrequite simply the best chinese restaurant in liverpool !!!!!!!
Eastern Diner – Mossley Hillwhen nothing else will do only a curry fits the bill and this place hits the spot. great curries fab bread. above average indian fare
Royal Bengal Restaurant – West Kirbythis is fantastic little place they have menus raneging from 7.95 for a 3 course meal from 6.30-8pm
Ruis – Bootledon't normally like big hotel restaurants. This one cuts the mustard. Top marks all round.
Crowne Plaza Liverpool – Liverpool City CentreThe friendly service and low prices in this restaurant are commendable, but we thought the food was bland on our visit.
Master Chef Tandoori Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreThe food and service at this restaurant are always excellent, and I strongly recommend a visit.
Marsh Cat Restaurant – HeswallThis is a really good Indian restaurant. Nothing too radical or innovative, but always excellent food, and highly recommended.
Belash – SouthportThe food was amazing!!
Zorbas – Liverpool City CentreI went to the casa mia with hopes of a high quality meal, with family and friends and was left feeling disappointed as there was little real italian feel/flair to the meal, the Manager trys his best to give a italian feel but really interferes to much for my liking, little experience in the waiting staff
We went to sample the regional cuisine that the monro offers having seen it on TV. We weren't disappointed as although we had to wait for the fresh food to be cooked (this was explained to us before we sat down) it was amazing to taste humble vegetables taste sweet, crunchy and you could tell that the food was good for you. Having sampled Buffalo, Wild Boar and Rabbit we thought this little bar and restaurant is special. The wine list too, is worthy of note as I read that if you don't like any wine that you order they'd exchange it for something you'd prefer. We didn't need to take up the offer as the house wine at only £10.50 was a fabulous Chenin Blanc from South Africa. All in all the food, service and atmosphere were a real delight and this place deserves a visit by everyone.
