Tai Pan Restaurant – Liverpool City CentrePopped in on the off chance of getting a table last Saturday, (derby day so town was very busy) and was accommodated immediately. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the food was superb. Would not hesitate to recommend the restaurant.
Alma De Cuba – Liverpool City CentreWe read the reviews on here and we (2 adults, 1 child) were very impressed when we visited on Monday 27th March 2006 for the £9.95 Monday buffet, (half price for children). Decor, staff and most of all the food, were all excellent. The resident Magician / Balloon man visited us at the end of our meal for our choice of balloon shapes!! I would definitely phone first to book, as it did get busy. The only downside was the price of a glass of coke, which was £1.50, but it didn't spoil the evening we had in there. Treat yourselves.....
Magic Spices – WallaseyExactly what i wanted, and expected. Very good standard of usual chinese food with a few interesting bits and pieces. Great value for money. Service slightly slow, but it was busy. Decor - as expected - clean, tidy, welcoming. As close as you can probably get to a London china-town restaurant without going to London. Would go back without hesitation, recommended.
Jumbo City – Liverpool City CentreWonderful food, had a set menu and the quantities were very generous and cooked to perfection. The entertainment you get while you eat is wonderful and everyone? very friendly. Only one small complaint in that the drinks are quite expensive, especially the spirits.
Sapporo Teppanyaki Liverpool – Liverpool City CentreWent to Maranto's for my brother in-laws 40th birthday party we were a party of 25. We were all sat at one table with balloons. They really made the effort with decorating the table. Fantastic service the food was served in large portions plenty of choice . Would recommend this to anyone.
Maranto’s Restaurant – AigburthThe Chimneys always has a laid back welcoming atmosphere of a comfy country pub (even if it is just 2 mins from the M53!) which is great. Plenty of non-smoking areas too - which is a bonus. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food selection is great (although only one vegetarian dish). Our starters were great, our mains didn't live up to the first course sadly - a bit overcooked, which was disappointing given the strong start.
Chimneys, The – HeswallEntertaining yes. Good fun... in places. Value for money... perhaps. Depends what you fancy, the sushi was excellent, the circus cooked food didn't impress much at all. Great atmosphere, but ultimately seems more about the fun cooking than the food, and when you've used a wok yourself..... kids love it!
Sapporo Teppanyaki Liverpool – Liverpool City CentreWe went here January 2006 on a Sunday afternoon. It was quietish. It is a lovely restaurant, very clean. The food was very tasty and presented very good. The service was great. The restaurant was a bit cold but we were given gas heater so this was not a problem. We went for a birthday and was given free birthday cake which was delicious. They stopped the music and played happy birthday. It is a lovely restaurant and we are going back for mother's day and looking forward to it.
Ho Lee Chow – SouthportSchmooze WOW I? from Oxford and was told about this place from a friend. Liverpool don? know what they have. The Schmooze is one of a kind and it? a wine bar just like its says not like some of the other bars in that area. Keep up the great work and I will be back.
Schmooze Wine Bar and Eatery – Mossley Hillbooked at last minute and they accommodated a large table of 11 for me. food was great (esp. recommend the seafood fajitas, or the snapper) and service good too. oh, and beers v.good too - rec the (very strong) bock!
Que Pasa Cantina – AigburthGuaranteed excellent food and superb service - i have never been disappointed, or even less than very happy with a meal at Linos. The guys know how to run a restaurant, and they run it so so well. If you get a change their lunchtime menus are really well priced, and considering the quality, criminal to miss out on. Evening menu is compelling and the range of desserts and specials offered (from memory by Nigel and Ian) is disarming. As other reviews have said, it's rather easy to eat more than you should. Wine selection is excellent, with even the odd non-Italian wine sneaking in for an appearance. Can't recommend enough - but please don't book when i want to go! It's not huge... it is special. Dress up!
Linos Restaurant – HoylakeConsistently average/good food in a restaurant that is typical of most Chinese restaurants. A bit more homely than most with exposed wood beams, but not the last word in interior design. In my opinion, there are others that do it better, albeit not close by. Very friendly service. Prices reasonable.
King Wah Restaurant – HeswallHad a very enjoyable meal on Friday night 17th March 06 with friends from America. American friends very impressed with food. Service was outstanding waitress called Charlotte nothing too much trouble for her she made us very welcome. We definitely will return.
Owens – ChildwallHad an excellent night out at this surprising restaurant. Food was outstanding, although it is hard to book as has answer phone and do not always gat back to you.
Colours Restaurant – St.HelensAn outstanding restaurant, with excellent food. A romantic ambiance and good waiter service. Going again tomorrow night Lynne
Red Fort – AigburthI have been in this restaurant many times and for to be an Italian, this is the best place that I?e found in the UK. Food was great, staff and management were very helpful and they were very welcoming. Is the only restaurant that cooks the Italian food in the real way. I hope that you keep doing well. Thank you for the lovely time.
Il Forno – Liverpool City CentreI have visited the Charcoal Grill on many occasion and found it always to be of great value for money, and the food always of a very high standard. Infact I would say for value , quality and service, it is one of the best restaurants in St. Helens.
