Spent New year's eve here and had a fantastic night, service was excellent as was the food, I had zero complaints and would highly recommend this restaurant and it's staff

Absolutely gorgeous meal on New Years Eve. Staff are attentive polite and the service was great. We can’t wait to go back.

5 of us for food and drinks, a fantastic location with a great friendly atmosphere, the food was really nice and we all had different choices with generous portions...looking forward to my next visit...we were visiting on New yrs eve afternoon.

The Rising Moon is a pleasant, comfortable pub in a great location and the meals are generally very good, at reasonable prices and the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately, on this occasion, our main courses were spoiled because the chips were heavily pre-salted by the kitchen staff. Why do this? We never add salt to our meals, and if we wanted to there is a salt cellar on the table. We queried this with the waitress and she asked the kitchen staff. The answer was " it's what we do". Well, please don't. Otherwise our meals were excellent. On future visits, when placing our meal orders we will ask for the kitchen staff not to pre-salt our food.

This hidden gem was an absolute delight for my Christmas Dinner this year. There was only myself and my son so I thought it would be nice to go out for our Christmas Dinner only the 2nd time in 58 years but certainly won't be the last. The staff where very cheerful and dressed for the occasions, the Nutcracker and the Christmas tree won it for me, the service was very efficient and attentive, they were professional throughout, I chose the Creamed Mushrooms on Ciabatta with a small side salad that was delicious, my son had Garlic Bread because he didn't want any of the starters and the staff were happy to oblige. I had the typical Christmas dinner which was Turkey and all the trimmings again this was very nice, my son had Rump au poivre which he said "was good" which is praise indeed, and dessert was Christmas pudding for me and Chocolate Brownie warm with Vanilla Ice Cream, to finish was a cup of tea for him and coffee for me with mince pies for us both. The atmosphere was lovely, on arrival being shown to our table with the offer of a free Christmas drink I opted for the Mimosa but there were other options available, the table was set with a sprinkling of sweets/chocolates on the table and a box of Brandy Snaps to take home which I duly did and polished them off with Squirty Baileys cream from home. The landlady also took the time to come and say hello and welcome us to her pub. There was Christmas crackers of course this is standard but lovely, Christmas music playing quietly in the background but the noise of chatter and laughter for me made it a perfect day. The added bonus was no cooking and no washing up. I will definitely be booking for Christmas 2026. Happy New Year to everyone and you must try this gem out in the New Year

Absolutely fabulous place, loved the decor & the relaxed vibe , had a very friendly greeting who helped us with doors for pram, seated quickly, although had to wait a bit between ordering etc the main waitress/front of house lady was on it & kept us updated on timings, we weren’t in any rush & what was noticeable & very positive was how busy it was for a Monday lunchtime which was great to see, the food was just lovely & portion sizes were really good, can definitely recommend & will definitely return.

Lovely family experience with good food and friendly service

We was greated and seated at a table. Was sat there waiting for a menu for 20 minutes, then told the kitchen is closed whilst chef is busy waiting a further 30 minutes before ordering food. Visited twice then with other peoples food and drinks orders The waitress then knocked a tree over into me but was really apologetic. Got some olives on the house. The food came but the pasta bowl the pasta was not fully cooked. I didn’t have the heart at that point to return it. Maybe we went on a bad night but unfortunately not sure we will be returning soon, which is a real shame I had heard such good reviews. Hate to give a bad review but have to tell the truth. Maybe after they have found there feet I will revisit for a better experience.

We had a lovely evening in Sorella last night ( 29/12/25). The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious as always The singer who played through the evening was absolutely excellent- very smooth and accomplished and helped to create a lovely ambience .

Amazing as always! Whole family enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere was great. Very busy restaurant but the staff were still very attentive. Slightly slow on taking drink order at the start but once the drinks arrived they were amazing! Huge portions! Great value for money!

Excellent food and service And great value for money

The service was excellent, even during a very busy period, and the restaurant was clearly well managed. The food was beautifully prepared and presented. Unfortunately, the garlic bread bowls were unavailable by the time of our 7:30pm reservation; however, this did not detract from our experience, as we selected a variety of other dishes from the menu, all of which were of a very high standard. We would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning in the future. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
