Papa Luigis – WiganOur first visit and certainly not our last! We arrived a little early for our 5 pm booking but were quickly accommodated, our coats were taken away to dry (it was chucking it down with rain) and seated at a very pleasant table. We were given the pre-theatre menu which initially seemed rather limited, but were offered the a la carte menu on request, but in the end chose all our dishes from the pre-theatre menu and felt happy with our choices and the value for money. Service throughout the meal was excellent and the food exceeded all our expectations in terms of quality and portion size.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreMy mum loves this restaurant, so whenever we have a theatre trip we book for lunch. Excellent service - we are always made to feel special despite not being regulars. Food is lovely and the special set menu is perfect for a pre-theatre lunch.
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreWe booked in at Gio's in advance of an event on at The Bridgewater Hall on a Friday evening. It was a little early for dinner for us being 6pm, but as we were going to The Bridgewater with friends, we decided to eat in advance rather than eat afterwards. The restaurant was extremely busy and my wife and I were about 25 mins early, but they still seated us immediately even knowing how early we were. The staff were very attentive to us and other customers and I felt that they were in control of service in spite of how busy they were. Our friends arrived and we ordered from the pre-Theatre set menu. It wasn't a huge choice in terms of selection, but enough of a variety of pizza's, pasta and either a steak or a fish main course to cater for most people. I think the reason is they expect so many covers in a short period of time they need to adapt the menu and it's size accordingly. We all had starters and a main course and a glass of wine/beer but no desserts or coffee as we were clock watching. The food was very pleasant, nothing you could really get wrong if you were an Italian restaurant, as we only had pizzas and pasta. One of the staff had a really good sense of humour and again regardless of how busy they were, it was nice he could engage with a touch of humour as well with us. I settled the bill and I was happy to pay the optional gratuity which was included on the bill as I was very happy with the service and quality of food. I would point out though, when asked to follow the instructions on the credit card pad, there was an option to add a gratuity which I obviously ignored. I don't believe this was a conscious 'ploy' from this restaurant, but no doubt somebody who may have had several drinks or someone less observant and not realise the gratuity is already on the main bill may overlook this and double tip. I would go back again.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreAlways my go to restaurant if I’m visiting the Bridgewater. The pre-show menu is limited but covers pasta, pizza, chicken fish and steak. Always well cooked and tasty. The starters are good. Portion sizes are fine. Excellent service and great value for money. Probably best to book as it gets quite busy if there’s something good on.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreAmazing. Amazing food, service, atmosphere, and prices. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a friendly member of staff. The restaurant was lovely and warm and the service to the table was almost instant, no having to wait. There is an excellent range of food and drinks available. The food we ordered was at the table within 10 minutes and was amazing. High quality ingredients cooked to perfection. How they can provide such high quality food, drinks and service at such low prices is beyond me. We took details and menus to pass on to friends and we will return again here on a regular basis. If you go by car, there is a car park across the road which is only £1.50 for 6pm to 8am (Night Rate).
Braza – BoltonSadly it was the kitchen staff (apart from the one lady carving the meat who really deserved a pay rise) and the really unhelpful waitress, who just appeared to not care about what they were doing, which really spoiled our experience. * The Service was poor, having to find someone to be able to take our order. * Starter's taking far too long to arrive. Even the waitress assumed we'd eaten our starters and were we ready to move on to the carvery, when we hadn't even had our starters. * Drink's again taking far too long to arrive that the lady on the bar in her frustration of them not being collected by our waitress, brought them over herself. * My drink being taken from the table before I'd even finished it. Had to tell the waitress while I was waiting in the Carvery queue. Thankfully she was walking towards me with it, so I could get her attention. Told her it was Disaronno & Coke and all I got back was sorry she thought it was Coke. Does that matter, I'd not finished! * Meat and vegetables so dry, numerous people complained. * No Turkey, again numerous people complained, Only Pork & Beef available, the Turkey wasn't ready. The Beef was in small bits, it couldn't be sliced because it was so dry. *Double dipping by the same waitress (who took my drink) checking to see if the gravy was cold or not, all with one spoon into 2 different gravies. I told the manager immediately. The duty manager (I think she was) came over to our table to apologise for everything and was very understanding at our frustrations. The gravy was changed as she explained and I also saw that for myself too. We were given a free round of drinks, but sadly paying for the meal we absolutely didn't enjoy was something that should of been taken off the bill, not drinks!. It appeared to be a lovely restaurant, however I appreciate it's a busy Sunday, but our issues cannot all be excused 'because it was busy'. In my opinion, if they managed the staff better across the tables in the restaurant, as their appeared to be ample, and had more team work and communication in the kitchen, & generally across the staff, then no matter how busy they were, you would have a happier customer because staff would be communicating for less to go wrong or when it did, it could be dealt with effectively and efficiently.
Fairview Inn – RochdaleIt was very busy, and the staff and service was excellent, the food was very good great value for money, nothing was to much trouble, would recommend the fairview.
Fairview Inn – RochdaleHad the carvery but wasnt great. Went with another couple. We got our food they had to wat another 15 mins for carvery meat. Veg was only warm. Had to wait for more roast potatoes they didn't seem to keep an eye on the veg/potatoes running low.
Fairview Inn – RochdaleHad a lovely Sunday Lunch nice staff been here plenty of times and booked celebration birthdays always been excellent that’s why we keep going back
Fairview Inn – RochdaleSuperb food and drink with great service as well. One of my favourite places to eat in Manchester, something genuinely different.
Armenian Taverna and Restaurant – Manchester City CentreWhat a stunning space to be in whether for a drink or dinner. Rich, colourful and very luxurious. We enjoyed great food and expensive drinks. Lots of lovely touches like the monogramed crockery. A special occasion place.
The Ivy Spinningfields- Manchester City CentreA spectacular venue with amazing views over Manchester. Food and drink match the experience!
20 Stories – Manchester City CentreWe dined at Giorgio's on Saturday evening. We were a group of four who were tired after a full day exhibiting at Manchester Central. In short it was the best evening, the food was spot on, we all agreed one of the nicest Italian meals we'd had in this country.! The service was fantastic, friendly, full of fun ( especially when rubber gloves brought to one of our group who had joked about washing up!!) Wonderful ambiance .We were made to feel as if we were regulars. I wish we lived in Manchester then we would be regulars !! To be sure we will return at the earliest opportunity, thank you all for making our evening .... my only complaint.. We didn't have room for a pud !!
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreLovely food and lovely staff. I booked last minute for a party of 6 for Sunday lunch and they were very accommodating. The food has been great each time I have been, and really reasonably priced.
The George Charles – DidsburyExtremely impressed with our food! Pigs head croquettes, Braised featherblade etc. Our wine was excellent too, a very pleasant Macon to start and a Greek bottle of Red that was very good. Busy lunch service with efficient service
