We were upset when Happy Seasons closed having eaten there dozens of times,it being the best Chinese food in the area (and the cheapest !!). However we are pleased to say the new owners food is just as good ( soya chicken better!!!) and more of it. My few months of misery have ended and the fruitless search for Chinese food of equal quality is over. Long live the new Happy Seasons !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having done a lot research on Middle Eastern Restaurants in and around Manchester and trying them; this is one we will certainly be going back to time and time again. There is a smaller menu than some similar places, but the food was absolutely superb. All 4 of us had something different, and we couldn't fault anything. Some of the starters I had not seen before, and they were mouth watering. Go try this place, it's rustic and homely and doesn't cost a fortune.

fantastic Persian restaurant, a real 'hidden gem' in south Manchester. great starters including chicken livers in pomegranate sauce, great kebabs and Persian stews, both with exquisite rice with a touch of saffron. if you haven't visited Shiraz before, get there now, you won't be disappointed

Fantastic food, superb service, and a great 'all you can eat ' offer, makes La Salsa my favourite place to eat. The fish in batter tapas is second to none, my wife's favourite is the gambas (king prawn in batter) A superb menu choice and a pretty decent pint of cruzcampo make it a thoroughly enjoyable eating out experience.

Fourteen members of Trafford Curry Club ate here last night Wednesday 20th May 2009. We ate here in January 2008 and decided to come back to see if the high standards were still being maintained. We were not disappointed! Once again the place was very busy with many Asian people eating here as well. After poppadoms, mixed starters, a choice of main courses plus drinks and coffees the total bill came to £320. Once again we were very impressed with the waiter service, food and atmosphere. This place is nearly always packed to the rafters even midweek so they have clearly found a successful winning formula. This restaurant is the jewel in the crown of Manchester. Earth Cafe is beneath Manchester Buddhist Centre, and the decor and atmosphere reflect that. It's relaxed and friendly, with cheerful staff, and the food is served cafeteria style. They use mostly locally grown ingredients and the food is very fresh - big choice of juices, smoothies and salads as well as several choices of main course, and unexpectedly delicious cakes and coffee too. It's all ridiculously cheap for the quality and quantity you get, and the statues are beautiful . . .

A hidden gem in Didsbury! I have eaten here on many occasions with/without children, as a couple, and in large groups and the food never fails to impress - even my very fussy father! Lunch potions are quite large and desserts are to die for ! Love being able to see into the kitchens. The wait staff are also very polite and efficient without being obtrusive overall an excellent, reasonably priced, quite dining experience - highly recommended!

I idolise the food at this restaurant so much i bore my colleagues to death about the place, I love the football connections even though i am far too out of shape to even consider kicking a football. I love the complete waste of a prime fillet steak by mincing it and using it in a pasta dish! mmm, As I am a serial complainer, please allow me to eat for free in the future. China City is and excellent restaurant. In the week you can get a 3 course mean for £4.50. On a Saturday it is only 50p extra. Service is excellent and the food is always piping hot and freshly cooked. I have tried several other restaurants in China Town but always end up going back to China City.

my 3rd choice very nice but seem to rush you too eat up order your starter then tell them your not ready for main course yet . very expensive for the drinks. 2nd choice is darbar. 1st choice is al bilal. the rest are not so good. as an Indian i know. nice place enjoy anyway.

very very expensive on drinks & food ok food not great but would not eat here again. no good for a large family works out dear!

It varies can be great. then you get 5 out of ten.

£1.80 for a half pint of orange cordial - 3 drinks £4.80 for the cordials = what a rip off - when I mentioned this the guy shrugged his shoulders = £1.80

Beat the credit crunch and get in here for great home cooked food for around a fiver ! Famous curry night on wednesday ,regular free music events, wide selection of real ales,need to be early to ensure a table.

It is a nice place in a good setting, however, the food and the service was pretty bad, the chicken pie was slop in a bowl with a burnt top, you have to order at the front desk before you even get a table, worst dining experience i've ever had

went here for lunch with several work colleagues , chose the set menu @ £4.95 , poppadums and an array of chutneys etc to start, followed by onion bhaji , shish kebab , garlic naan [ freshly made] with salad,finally two different curries [ 1 veg ] with rice . the food was excellent and the staff were very good , definitely worth a visit , good value for money.

i would never ever go to the 3 crowns ever again. the food is the the worst my taste buds ,has ever met. this is now more than a posh mcdonalds.. the food was not fresh,a small plate of chips shared between 4 people. mr hicks himself, hovering over your shoulder tends to put you off your meal. any person who knows any thing about food would not venture here.
